When I try to assess a team, I always try to do it by ignoring the name on the front of the jersey. When I do it with Duke, I often see this year's squad as being not much different than a very good mid major team. Not always in a 40 minute game but often. Can they get better? Yes. Will Scheyer be the guy to drive that result quickly? Not so confident. He seems soft and I think he's players are modeling after that. Time will tell, but I think our current squad and program/culture is a notch above Duke regardless of how many 5 stars they have/will have.

Bilas has been very impartial. He is, for the most part.

Duke’s coach looks like a nerd that isn’t as smart as a nerd should be. Besides the tall dude Duke looked like an average or bad basketball team.

Does Musselman ever run any offense? Team looks lost in the half court. They’re toast against a really good offensive team.

The court storming was weird, people are still trying to make Duke a thing when they're not really a thing anymore.

Are you not old enough to remember when he played for Duke? That would explain things a bit.

I’m too old to remember much of anything and I usually don’t watch teams that I despise such as Duke unless they are about to lose.

IF we lose to Kansas, he’ll somehow quantify our loss to Kansas as a worst loss than Dukes & justify this ranking by another close loss by Duke to Az at home

I hated us storming Vs Nova (I think it was nova)…. But we were gone for a while and took it as a welcome back. Ark has been decent/good. No need to storm for this.

Kids have fun tho
 
Did that Arkansas win really deserve a court storm?

Watched most of the 1st half of 'Nova game, truly enjoy Kyle Neptune being exposed. Obviously last season was a pleasure from start to finish, but I truly enjoyed slapping around 'Nova - especially the AJax "chest bump".. Neptune is an absolute fraud and a clown.

The average student doesn’t watch every other team like we do. They stormed the court because Duke had a little number next to their name lower than 10, and they didn’t have one at all. None of those students, deep down, thought they’d win that game at tip. And once the storming starts, it’s a photo op for everyone else so why not.
 
This could be the beginning of the agony for Duke. They were due to miss a beat or two. First time untested coach who has won almost nothing.
