Week of 1/15/24 Other Games

It will be interesting to see how Seton Hall's games are officiated when they go on the road to UConn, Marquette, Creighton, Villanova, and St. John's. Wondering if being on the road in all those games will affect how the game is officiated.

That should be an and-1, SH defender goes through his body on the finish
I don't know, kid for Creighton grabbed the defender by his shorts and pulled him down to the floor. Real sketchy move there.

.-.
I've been rooting for Seton Hall but man Creighton is getting jobbed. Clutching and grabbing from SHU all day, Kalkbrenner got mugged by two defenders and then Richmond shoved the defender. And the refs missed a travel on Creighton. Headed to OT

Big East refs are a joke, we deserve better than this.

Seton Hall played that inbound like there was .5 seconds left on the clock. You have time to put the ball on the floor and shoot at 1.2 seconds, no?

Refs blowing it all over the place. Missed two fouls on a Kalkbrenner layup. Missed a travel on Creighton. Then missed a 5 second call on the next inbound (per my counting). Then Ashworth got clobbered on his shot which should have been an and1 to win the game

Not sure why Seton Hall drew up an alley oop 15 foot jumpshot not even facing the rim instead of a Dawes catch and shoot, but free basketball in Newark!

Richmond is killing Seton Hall today.
Creighton figured out how best to stop him. Put a quick player on him and make him shoot off the dribble. To his credit he has adjusted and has a bunch of assists. But great game plan on how to control his scoring.

.-.
I never thought I’d say this, it makes me sick to do so, and I pray I never utter this again:

Poor Kalkbrenner

That was an absolutely egregious no-call, he was clearly fouled twice
That was so bad, he's been getting fouled all day with no calls.

What a win at the buzzer for the Cuse. Tie game, Copeland with a three point attempt hits nothing but nylon. Beat Miami who was up about 5 with 4 to go..

100%, and I have never seen McDermott this animated. Seton Hall gets away with a ton and not just in this game. A little like Pittsburgh way back when. You get them to the Tournament, you may see a lot of whistles. I have a feeling the away crowds may have an affect on the officials down the stretch of the season as Seton Hall has a bunch of tough road games upcoming.

.-.
Kalkbrenner has been DOMINANT. Huge stretch there for him.

Winning at the rim vs Richmond is no easy task.

How about Kolek, 0-3 on free throws late in the game. He is a 94% free throw shooter. Go figure. I think Marquette is like 3-10 at the free throw line today.

When in doubt, throw it to the 7’2 guy. Back to back easy alley oops for Kalk and Creighton goes up 4. 26 points, 7 rebounds, 5 blocks so far. Damn

Looked like Alexander traveled on that possession when he eventually made that jumper to go up 4. Started moving his feet way early before he put the ball on the floor

Part of me wants SH to win because it will continue to make our loss to them look better, but I also don't want them to keep winning because I want us to be alone at the top of the big east

So many times Creighton stopped Richmond but couldn't come up with the ball after the initial miss, and then the refs let SH get away with more contact on Ashworth

Richmond has been brutal.
So if he gets another rebound, would you say it's the worst triple-double ever?

fwiw, McDermott made some good adjustments. Kadary was fine in 1st half.
