Oregon St. decided to try something different...winning a game in regulation. Just barely. And-1 w/ 1 second left gives them a 59-56 win over a pretty bad LMU team.

Soooo the Jacks beat ISU 79-71 in Pocatello. I was switching back and forth to the Montana State-Idaho game. The Bobcats (who prevailed by 3) and Vandals are both outstanding and NAU will be hard-pressed to beat those two with the weak defense played by Loree Paynes's squad.

I think NAU should get by Weber State and Montana before the BIG game against the Bobcats in Flagstaff.

With the current lack of D, in a too early projection I see NAU third behind the Bobcats and Vandals.

I can’t believe that Taylor Jones is still playing college basketball.
And has she improved at all since what was a nice Fr. year...a lot of years ago?

.-.
Portland with a late come back against Gonzaga. Tied it up briefly, but ultimately dropped their second straight conference game at home. They took that whole favorites to win the WCC thing and threw it out the window.

Two and a half hours of my life I won't get back from watching 54 fouls committed in 40 minutes of play. That's a rate of one foul called every 44.4 seconds. SMDH

And only one player fouled out.
And 55 made FG. Interesting.

And 48 free throws taken.

Both teams are deep (11 for each team played) and they needed it to absorb all the foul trouble.

Shay Holle fouled out with 7 minutes remaining. Booker's and Beers's minutes were severely limited due to foul trouble, but both played most of 4Q. Oldacre got her 4th foul near the end of 3Q in that absurd non-fight that the referees spent an eternity reviewing and she didn't play after that.

Somewhere between 5-10 minutes in the first half was all I could take. Sounds like I saved myself quite a bit of trouble.

From my estimation, no. Her stats are strikingly consistent year after year but she hasn't developed beyond where she was a freshman.

No way, not in the the same conference as other horrible teams like Pitt, Wake, BC, Syracuse... SMU is bad but not a lot worse than a handful of other teams in that bloated cartel.
Not ACC related, but bloated conference related: I'm catching up on Jeopardy, and one of the episodes I watched last night had a category "the 18 team Big Ten conference." A couple of the clues began "This member of the Pac-12 -- No wait, the Big 10. . ."

The SEC is going to be tough to win. I don't think any team will go through with out a loss.
I think SC has maybe a 50% chance to accomplish this, as they face most top 10 teams at home and they just don’t lose at home. Games at Texas and at Tennessee will be potential losses though

.-.
They were a middle team in the bad AAC. maybe 0-18 was extreme, but no way saw them beating Stanford.
The ACC has a lot of potentially bad teams--like Wake Forest, Virginia Tech, UVA, Pitt, and Clemson. Stanford seems poised to join that group.

Btw, am in Evil Orange Land, and saw a Cheerwine Chocolate Bar!

I'll have to investigate, sounds like a marriage made in heaven.

In the first half primarily but she figured some things out in the second half. It was easier for USC to defend her with Swords being out as well.
Swords looked REALLY good against UCLA! Dang! Olson played a lot better against UCLA vs USC.

Ugh "your ponies"??!! They're not anywhere near North Carolia and hearing you blow kisses to Snooty Millionaires University was not on my bingo card tonight

I posted this in another thread this spring

As a youngster, the two teams i rooted for the most were Duke and SMU. Back in the days of Eric Dickerson, Craig James, and Lance Mcihenny.. And Jon Koncak on the basketball side. After 28 years in the Wilderness, glad to see they are back in a top 4 conference

I must admit, the first time I ever watched a SMU wbb game was the first game of this season when they hosted NC A&T
