Virginia at #4 NC State (7p, ACCNX)
I would be very surprised if this game gets played. Virginia has been on COVID pause since mid-December and it wouldn't surprise me if they just end their season at this point. NC State has also paused because of COVID and this would be the 10th day of their shutdown.

I would like this game played because NC State will need to work out the rust after being off for so long ahead of Sunday's showdown at Louisville. I would HATE for our first game back to be against the Cardinals.

Isn't there a game Wednesday afternoon that might be of interest here on the BY? Or did I miss some bad news???

Who’s going to tell him that the Xavier game is postponed?

What happened to the home game against Seton Hall, 4:30PM on Wednesday, January 13, 2021 on SNY/Fox Sports app/channel?

I think we all need to view this as a “collaborative effort” that @Plebe has done/is doing the lions share of the work and we can/should augment updates/corrections as each of us is aware in a fair, polite and considerate fashion.
We know this will change day by day and all of us are like “Oliver” in the sense “please sir, I want some more” so let’s all help each other and not appear ungrateful.
I don’t think anyone is per se’ but sometimes the tone is unclear.
Thank you Plebe and feel free to beat on me when upset, like kicking the dog when he brings the slippers...:)

.-.
ESPN has a game on Thursday at 7pm but does not show who will be playing yet.

If someone is referring to me as not being fair, polite or considerate in what I (playfully I thought) questioned, I was asking about the Huskies game...you know, the team that the vast majority of posters here are fans of, well, I apologize @Plebe

You're just fine. I took it as just that, playful, and I actually appreciate the vigilance :)

The NC State women's basketball game against Virginia, which was scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 14, has been postponed. The postponement is a result of the Wolfpack and the Cavaliers both remaining in the Atlantic Coast Conference's outlined COVID-19 protocols.

As part of the Atlantic Coast Conference's announcement, the league office also announced a rescheduled game for the Pack. NC State will travel to Virginia Tech on Thursday, Jan. 28 (rescheduled from Jan. 7), with tip-off for that game set for 4 p.m.

According to ACC.com, NC State still slated to visit Louisville on Sunday.

.-.
From TheSabre.com

The Syracuse at Georgia Tech, Florida State at Miami, and Virginia at NC State games scheduled for Thursday, Jan. 14, and the Georgia Tech at Virginia game scheduled for Sunday, Jan. 17 have been postponed.

Florida State, NC State, Syracuse and Virginia remain in the COVID protocols, resulting in the postponement of the aforementioned games.

In the only noncanceled D1 game of the day, the Hornets of Alabama State have swarmed all over the Devilettes of Mississippi Valley State in the first half.

MVSU's iconic play-by-play announcer is on the call, although their legendary color commentator seems to be MIA:

I guess the Providence at Villanova game on Wednesday has also been postponed for the same reason why our game against Seton Hall was???

Edit - there's a thread on the main WBB forum that Villanova has paused due to COVID-19.

NC State at Louisville postponed. FL State at Louisville on Sunday instead.

Darn it! I wanted to show Charlie Creme that his current bracket is misguided.

Darn is right (I was using slightly stronger language when I found out, though). But I wanted to show Charlie Creme that his bracket was right on target! Fan bases from both schools were really looking forward to that showdown. A lot rides on the outcome.

Halftime in Thibodeaux. Nicholls leads winless Northwestern State, 26-17. The Lady Colonels are looking to go to 3-1 in the Southland and keep the pressure on league-leading Stephen F. Austin.

Central Michigan was off to a 5-0 start in the tough MAC, but getting thumped by Northern Illinois tonight. Down 25 heading into Q4. NIU is only 4-5 overall. Anyone see this coming?

Speaking of the MAC Dyasha Fair dropped 36 today. She's averaging just a shade under 25 ppg for the season.

edit--Hmm...I looked at her career stats. Rapidly approaching 1000 career points already in her soph year, but well under a 40% shooter. That makes me see her in a bit different light. Really gotta get that shooting % up.

WOW! Northern Illinois blowing out Central Michigan, 78-53, going to Q4.

Nicholls blows out Northwestern State, 68-38. After the first quarter, the Lady Colonels outscored Northwestern State 56-25.

I certainly didn’t. Can’t remember the last time a MAC team blew out Central. Where does this put the Chips in their at-large bid search? MAC tournament is always a gauntlet.

#1, I need this thread on the top of the board, hence my post
#2, I want to give my picks for the big night:
Maryland, VPI, Oregon, A&M, Mercer, Missouri, BYU, Louisville, SC, Arkansas, 'Bama, Texas, NAU, Gonzaga
I have no clue about Idaho or Sacremento....
I lost on the WF game and am winning the Indiana game...

Mikayla Coombs having a very good game for Georgia in a win at TN. She looked incredibly happy doing it. Davemport also a good game for Georgia. So happy for both of them.

Gonzaga not having any trouble so far, up 29-10 early in Q2 against Santa Clara.

Michigan has Wisconsin just about doubled up. Maybe the Wolverines should be a dark horse to be Maryland's main competition in the B1G this year?

I think they are the main competition for sure at this point.
