Week 7 games (Jan. 4-10)

Tough loss. I was watching while helping my wife do a puzzle.

The Jacks were 0 for nine from the three-point line in the first half and really couldn't take advantage of a cold shooting Idaho state team. Just shows how tough it is to win on the road. Rasheed didn't play so I'm wondering if her knee is giving her trouble.

That announcer was something wasn't he? Kaboom!
 
Game today January 8th at 3:00 p.m. mountain standard time that might be of interest is a wac contest between undefeated Cal Baptist and Utah Valley.

The game will be streamed at no cost on the wac streaming service. Cal Baptist and Grand Canyon are the cream of the wac crop this year. Looking forward to those two teams squaring off later in the year. My fingers are crossed covid doesn't disrupt those two games.
 
NAU Lumberjacks really struggling in the second game against Idaho State. Tough to go through conference without three of your starters. Loree Payne's not going to be happy with the lack of defense however in this afternoon's contest game.
 
After trailing by 20 the Jacks are in the process of attempting to make a huge comeback. 3 minutes left in the game and they've closed within 6.
 
Central Michigan with a nice win on the road over Buffalo. CMU has gone on the road and beaten both Ohio and Buffalo now. Working towards that at-large if they don’t win the MAC tournament.

I wish there was some way to pin this near the top of this General forum. Along with the threads that @Shades posts with the relevant information for most games, it's the main reasons I come to the General forum.
 
Looks like Michigan had an easy time against Illinois today. 70-50 win. Big game for Naz Hillmon, 24 pts/13 boards. She's a stud who deserves more attention than she gets.
 
Here in Greensboro..... Western Carolina leads UNC-G 21-11 at the half :eek: The game was tied 4-4 after the first quarter :oops: I had no idea that my spartans would be so bad this year

I/we may need a reminder of the list of teams that qualify as "Yours" when you use the moniker of "My" so that we know and can keep abreast of the games. I only absolutely know you hate UNC so I got that covered... ;)
 
USC-Colorado was scheduled for today but has been moved to Monday.

I am torn. I like both of these teams. VT really needs a win, just from a morale standpoint, after their close call against Louisville the other night.

Georgia Tech wins, 56-54. GT now 6-3, 4-2 ACC. Virginia Tech now 6-4 on the season, 1-4 ACC.

Another heartbreaking loss for Virginia Tech.
 
Western Carolina starts off the conference season with a victory over UNC-G.. 49-42

I went away to catch the end of the Titans-Ravens game... knew they were gonna go to overtime... came back and saw GT on the line and wondered what happened.
 
Ever since Creighton showed Nebraska what a team from a good conference should play like, the Huskers have been coming on strong. They led at Michigan State by 9 at the half. MSU has now cut the lead to 5.

Iowa State came out absolutely on fire against Texas Tech. I'm sure that @DefenseBB is sad to see his favorite team Lubbock trailing 26-11 after 1Q.
 
Wake Forest opening up a can against Boston College, 26-15, midway through Q2. Taylor Soule has two fouls and on the bench for BC.
 
MSU had a chance to tie, but Kate Cain blocks the 3-point attempt and Nebraska completes the upset at the Breslin Center.

The Cornhuskers now have wins over Northwestern, Rutgers and Michigan State in 3 of their last 4 games, with only a 2-point loss at Michigan in that stretch. Quite the turnaround from their lackluster play to start the season. Expect them to get some top 25 votes come Monday.

@DefenseBB may have to delay firing their coach. Heck, better extend her contract.
 
While I do think that Amy Williams has not lived up to the hype, it's not as if she's tops on my list of coaches who need to go, she's not even in the top 2 of the Big10 watch currently occupied by Sharon Versyp and Jonathan Tsipis. She keeps it up though, she could fall to 4th behind Lindsey Whalen... ;)

I'm not actively rooting for Minnesota, just noting that that once thought great hire is not working out well.
 
One exciting game in the Big South Today... The Lancers of Longwood sink a 3 at the buzzer to stun the mighty Camels of Campbell.... 54-52.

The Powerful Panthers of High Point continue to run through the conference with reckless abandon... improves to 7-1 in the conference after sweeping the weekend series vs Winthrop.
