Week 6 - Dec 9 to 15

I had a fantastic time watching Cal drop 18 3s on Stanford. So happy for this team and Charmin! I also love how much the players in this team support one another. Great chemistry.

Cal looks like a top 25 team. They have notable wins against Stanford and Alabama, and their only loss is to Michigan State.

I'm also glad to see Suarez thriving at Cal. She was one of the players I enjoyed to watch whenever South Carolina played Tennessee.

Good revenge win for creighton. They actually lost to Green Bay last year.

When your starters hit 17 of 33 from the arc, you're probably going to win.

Sometimes the opponent's shooting is just too hot, but Stanford's been a hard team to figure out this year.

Look out for Tennessee scoring in the 130+ range against hapless NCCU.
Ahem. Vols hit 130 w/ just under 4 minutes left. Could see this coming a mile away. 130-50. Not sure why anyone schedules NCCU, there is nothing to be gained from a game like this. Will fall to 0-12 after this.

Jacks set to tip against the UN SF Dons who are as experienced as NAU. SF may be the best 2-5 team in the country with 2 point losses to Columbia and Boise State and a 6 point loss to Seton Hall.

.-.
Latham let everybody down. Missed 1 of 2 FTs w/ 33 seconds left that would've gotten the Vols to 140. Had to settle for a nail biting 139-59 win.

I'll say this for the style of play. It's a fabulous for putting up gaudy point totals against really bad teams and inflating players' scoring averages in the process.

I’m sorry Tennessee. I like the direction your program is headed. But I don’t know why you scheduled that game. I don’t think it makes you better.

I think LSU played them too.

Michigan drubbed Detroit Mercy 100-54. The difference between Detroit Mercy and oh, say North Carolina Central is that the Titans were 6-1 before today, compared to 0-11.

Olivia Olson w/ 22, most of that was in the first half. 3 in double figures off the bench.

Gotta keep up with the Joneses, huh.

But LSU beat them by 85, not 80. Tennessee should've taken a few more threes.

Cal Baptist is getting thrashed by 2-8 UC San Diego. I can't believe how bad the Lancers are this year. Did they lose everybody from last season?

Because they are a bunch of cowards. Gonna schedule the 4th best team in the Triangle.... cause they know they couldn't handle any of the top 3.

Mine you, as the #1 rival of my Aggies... I'm not a huge fan of Central... they are about my 8th favorite team in the state, but they didn't deserve this

What are you talking about?
This is one of the biggest ACC rivalry games. Right @triaddukefan ?

Top 3 for sure. Actually its the only rivalry in the country that has the same dynamic as Duke vs Chapel Hill. Top State Private vs Neighboring Flagship. Without looking at a map, I've always assumed that the Cal and Stanford's campuses are close to each other.

Belmont made Mississippi St. work for it, 73-70 final. Bruins are usually good, but this isn't looking like a banner year for them, only 5-5 so far. Bulldogs won the 4th quarter 32-21. That means they didn't score a whole lot in quarters 1-3.

Wow, looking at play by play, this was a tie game until a foul on a 3 with essentially no time left on the clock.

edit--it was 69-65 MSU w/ 10 seconds left, that's a whole lot of scoring at the end

I don’t know what’s more impressive between 30 made threes or 63 attempted.

Some teams are lucky to get 63 total shot attempts.

In addition to NCCU having the most TOs I think I've ever seen in a game, Vols also had 21 O boards. So they had A LOT of possessions.

edit--however there is nothing remotely impressive about beating NCCU; look at their season results, they get clobbered by everybody they play, including other low majors; they have surrendered 119 or more 4 times already this season

With a 92-83 victory over SF NAU Head Coach Loree Payne becomes all time winning WBB coach at NAU!
Keep getting her seasoned as a coach in case Langley doesn't improve during the next year or two. Maybe we can bring her back home to Montlake eventually.

Saw your post about them scoring 130+, paired with Central’s record and decided that I wouldn’t watch. Looks like I didn’t miss much.

Holy smokes. They must have. Wow to go from tournament team last season (28-2) to 2-10 this season, they must have a new roster of teammates.

Kentucky got off to a terrible start but still managed to beat Purdue by 30.

UCLA crushed Long Beach St. Gardiner didn't play, is she injured? Dugalic, Betts and Barker had their way w/ 22/8, 22/10 and 19/10.
