I root for Minnesota WBB as often as I root for brussel sprouts ... and see how they treat me

That Maryland Minnesota game was NUTS. A real clutch performance at the end by Maryland, matched by some real boneheaded choices by Minnesota.

And Oregon. They are a lot like Arizona state. Very unproven. Maybe they just aren’t very good? Looked outclassed in that first half. That’s for sure.

Has Oregon beaten a team like UCLA since COVID? Doesn't seem like it. But I could easily have missed it.
 
Michigan state. Bad loss to Wisconsin. Even Marquette beat Wisconsin. Shouldn’t happen.

It's a pitcher's duel. Oops, wrong sport. Washington has been getting off to slow starts against bad teams lately, so not surprising they are doing it again. At least USC isn't running away from them.
 
Just realized this is Howell's re-introduction to her former team.

Washington with their real starting lineup for the first time all year. Either Ladine or Stines has been out of the starting lineup every previous game. I still think they need to start McGaughy rather than Grabovskaia, but Brynn has been playing starter minutes at least.

You mean the coach, right? She had multiple chances to advance the ball and get beyond the MD press. It took her I think 2 or 3 steals leading to MD points with fouling out MN players before she finally advanced the ball. IMO-- the coach lost that game for her exhausted players....

I sure hope Ladine's whole senior year isn't ruined because she isn't healthy. She certainly isn't the same player right now that she was last year.

Poor shooting and low scoring, hallmarks of UW basketball since 2017.
 
Not gonna win many games shooting below 30%. Hard to believe they were even in it. Both teams had 2 players do pretty much all the scoring.
 
Good, glad USC won. It would have diminished the big marquee matchup with UConn next weekend if they had just lost to Washington here.

UW’s lights-out scoring system from the Plum era is but a distant memory now. It was a long time ago, but it feels longer than 8 years.

Oh, you don't have to tell me that. Feels like about 2 decades. There have been two coaches and many players have come and gone...but the offensive woes are a near constant.


About time for @LETTERL (I hope I'm getting the correct poster, I know it's an NC State fan) to put up a picture of Coach Langley to remind me how thrilled I've been with the last 4 1/3 seasons.

Yeah maybe. But the network can at least pretend it is a big game.

And it is actually the biggest road game UConn has played so far this year. Maybe UConn will play down to their level? 🤷‍♂️

Not clear what you're saying here.

Regarding your question, it looks like this is the only road game of this level UConn has for the season. As to UConn playing down, that's a scary thought but it's possible. Personally doubt they will, but it is possible.

Anyone else starting to feel like the Natty candidates are starting to become apparent? I feel like there are 6-8 teams which have the players and have shown the capability to win it all:

UConn
Texas
LSU
Michigan
UCLA
South Carolina
TCU
Oklahoma

I'm still on the fence with TCU and Oklahoma, so I'm keeping them on my radar.

Eye test says UCONN, Texas and Michigan have looked the best. Oklahoma can score and they are physical; after NC State's game with them last Wednesday, I would say they have the weapons to make a run. Need to tighten up on defense, though. They can't count on scoring 100 every game!
