There is a Civil War going on in Eugene, OR. Beavs jumped out to a quick lead but it was short lived.

I will have to switch over and watch/listen to this game. Oklahoma/NC State just wrapped up.

I am not surprised that Xavier beat providence. I think it has been really obvious in the non conference that they have improved this season. (No where to go but up basically.)

The ACC gets win number 2 in the ACC-SEC Challenge, Va Tech defeated Florida in a tightly contested game, 68-64.
The most interesting part of the game for me was a commercial where Paige, cowboy hat and all, "bought" a car from Carmax.😲 I can't picture her buying a used car...anyplace.

If it's good enough for Sue, it's good enough for Paige.

I know Pitt has had some bad losses, kinda surprised their record is 6-4. I would've guessed they were worse than that. Well they're gonna add another L tonight. Trailed Mississippi St. 42-14 at halftime! Trying to put a little window dressing on it in Q4, but still down by about 35 with a few minutes left.

Saint John’s losing on their home floor to Creighton is not a result I saw coming.

Not bad losses. Horrific losses.they lost to a D3 school. It is a very bad team.

Their coach did a bang up job at UMass, but his tenure there (year 3 I think) has been a disaster and is getting g worse.

LSU will win. I just want Duke to hold them under 100.
Not looking good there, going to hit 50 before half despite a slow start and Mulkey’s not one to call off the horses

Yeah, Duke’s reputation as a good defensive team even seems to be in tatters. Three straight teams; including south Florida have scored in the 80’s against them. LSU is not even having to attempt 3’s. They just get straight to the rim.

DePaul is in for a long season. Thumped by Marquette 85-54. How did they fall off so fast?

Fairfield losing to Howard has to be somewhat of a surprise. 72-69 final.

SEC thoughts from Wednesdays games:

South Carolina looks beatable in the SEC right now. Tessa was hot and that honestly saved the game for them. SC might live and die on her 3pt shot this season as no one else seems to be shooting 3s. Latson looks shaky and not confident in a new role. She also looks like she got scouted to hell and she is getting doubled on every drive. Okot is amazing around the basket and on rebounds when they can pass inside, but whew she is still a little raw. Just small mistakes. I think she would really benefit from another year in college if they can get that extension for her.

LSU probably has the most scoring threats in the SEC. Their defense is questionable, however and their half court offense shaky. They are deadly in transition though. Lay really fits into the looser LSU system.

I didn't see the Texas game, but they seemed the handle their matchup easily in the 2nd half. I think UNC is probably too high ranked right now, and should be lower teens.

Notables today (sat)

UMass gets first loss vs Army
Fairfield with a killer loss vs Howard (yesterday)
Illinois crushes Indiana 78-57
TCU blowing out unbeaten UTEP

Iowa at Rutgers later

UNLV got hammered by Rice. I've been really impressed by the job La Rocque has done there, but they appear to be down quite a bit this year. Might still run the Mountain West, but Colorado St. and Boise St. have done fairly well in OOC.

Eastern Washington over South Dakota is a bit of a surprise. This is the second half of the Big Sky-Summit Challenge going on today.

.-.
Stailee Heard woke up. 26 and counting against Mississippi Valley St. Okie St. up 120-42...about halfway thru Q4. Why play games like this?

edit--combined margin in Q2 and Q3 was 81-22

edit #2--Heard is probably done for the day; she scored her 26 in 27 minutes

edit #3--133-46 final; disgusting; I'm guessing school record for points scored for OSU?

Iowa 31-8 midway thru q2 vs Rutgers

Knights need a coaching change
This may be the worst high major team I’ve ever seen. No talent, no basic skills.
