Wow did Gonzaga get beat down by Florida St. today. This is 4 losses by at least 18 points in 9 games.
Gonzaga never recovered from the hot shooting of Florida State in the 1st quarter. I think FSU shot 64% in the first and they were up 16-20 points. Gonzaga just never recovered. I believe Gonzaga got to within 10-12 points in the 2nd half but that was it.

Mmm, I think they're talking about the Lutheran High vs Archbishop Mitty at a TOC game last year
Yes. Woliczko. Two years younger and shorter dominated Koval in that game.

Disagree. Pili was a big loss but the cupboard is not bare. The Northwestern loss was very surprising to me, but didn't Utah just beat Notre Dame today?
Yes. And I bet the coach that left was surprised when she saw the score.

I think that loss was more about a tired Notre dame and their lack of depth than it was about Utah. Sometimes you are in the right place at the right time.

30-8 in the fourth quarter. I guess the FSU coach wasn't in the mood to be merciful.

DeBerry was at UConn last season. They did not play a high school team.

I asked about DeBerry and that was the response I got.
The topic of the TOC tournament originally came up in direct response to your comment about Koval not being ready as a freshman. @Stagnant wasn't incorrect here.

Currently watching a rock fight between Syracuse and Yale.

Through 1Q the score is 9-10 with Yale winning. Syracuse had only 3pts until the last minute-ish of the quarter.

This is reminding me of a lot of non-conf games Syracuse played last season. Ice cold first quarters. The Orange have missed about 10 uncontested layups. Yale is out muscling them to about every loose ball and rebound.

So much hero ball from Syracuse. No flow to their offense, just standing around. Fans got a little invigorated after they finally picked up 6 more points but it was like a tomb in here.

Edit: players woke up in 2Q. At the half it’s 33-20, Syracuse.

That may be. However I'm certain Kneepkens, Johnson and McQueen were all significant players, and I believe they were all starters, on a team that made the Tourney the year before Pili arrived. So again, cupboard is definitely not bare. Viera, Toure, Ross and Wilke are all decent players as well.

Okay, I looked it up and I was correct. That trio I mentioned were 3 of the top 4 scorers for that team in 21-22 that won a 1st Round Tourney game.

They are going to need the automatic bid. That’s for sure.

Green Bay might be good. They were good last year. I doubt Wyoming is that great though. They have at least one good player though. Fertig.
This was an embarrassing weekend for UVA WBB. I'm not sure what to tell the Mox supporters at this point.

They've either been extremely unlucky...or their defense is atrocious this year. Hot shooting by an opponent has been a common theme in those big losses.

I remember the Virginia teams of the early and midnineties. Those were fun teams to watch.

Clemson trailing Kennesaw State at the half. Better turn that one around.

LSU favored by 66.5 against NC Central. That might be largest spread I've ever seen
NC Central is 0-9 rated #344 out of 362 Div 1 teams by Massey and according to Massey their OOC schedule has been tougher than LSU's. NC Central has played #75 Georgia, #60 Clemson, #190 Wofford, #187 Chattanooga, #148 Charleston, #24 Florida St, #182 S. Dakota, #221 NC A&T and #17 N. Carolina. While Mulkey has her Tigers playing #159 E. Kentucky, #312 Northwestern St, #308 Charleston Southern, #116 Murray St., #121 Tulane, #61 Washington and #25 NC State, if the last two teams weren't part of a holiday tournament they wouldn't have been played as part of her OOC.

Bad first quarter for LSU then. Only won it by 8.

Edit: 37-0 second quarter has LSU back on track.

Yowzers! That's just sad. Washington nearly set a program high scoring record against them last year, 110+ to 40 something. And that's a UW team that struggled to score most of the season. NCCU is really, really bad.

Georgia lost to Hampton, who was 1-4 coming into the game.

Sorry, I don't wanna hear anything about how brutally hard the SEC is. About half the conference is good, the other half is BAD for P4 schools.

edit--Hampton had losses to powerhouses Radford, Norfolk St. and Eastern Kentucky (as well as Vandy who might be pretty good this year)

Haley Cavinder hit a 3 w/ 12 seconds left to force OT against Quinnipiac. Battle of unbeatens.

Quinnipiac came from 22 down to take the lead before an unfortunate jump ball was called that gave Miami a chance to tie.

Pretty sure it was in the same gym where a 12 seed Quinnpiac upset 4 seed Miami in the 2nd round in 2017.

Miami did the same thing as Georgia. On their home floor, collapsed in the 4th quarter. But Quinnipiac committed a silly turnover. And then Cavinder hit the three after a couple of offensive rebounds. Miami managed to force overtime. And it looks like they have pulled it out.
