Week 15 - Feb 9 to 15

Maybe the fact you potentially can lose to most of the SEC teams on any night is getting old. Big 12 had its moments but never tough like this. Plus, adding Texas and Oklahoma didn't make the SEC any easier for the previous members. Gotta take the pain along with all that TV money.
The pressure that comes with all money is probably pretty insane.

Oy.

Cant tell what he's implying
-- that the assistant did a bad job on the scout, or
-- the players didn't pay attention to/follow anything they were told

?
I take it as a bit of both. It's not like Coach Schaefer hasn't made similar comments this season. This gives off the same vibe as his comments after Texas' loss to LSU.

I’d say the latter, especially considering Rori & Jordan Lee playing less than 20 minutes and Justice Carlton less than 10.

Olivia Miles has 33 pts after 3 qtrs as TCU leads at Baylor 61-48
I turned it off after the 3rd. Baylor played really lackluster ball at both ends of the court. Once Littlepage-Biggs limped into the locker room I figured it would get even worse. But the fact is that TCU didn’t play all that well either. I mean, after a cold start, Miles was simply chucking in uncontested 3s. Might as well watch the pregame shootaround. Very little movement besides her and Suarez. Makes me wonder if the Big12 still counts as a power conference.

I’ve always kinda liked Nicki, but she’s really not doing a good job this season.

I said Baylor looked “interesting” earlier this season, mainly because of Littlepage-Buggs and Fontleroy. What could they accomplish with such a weak supporting cast? Well, not so much, it appears. As a team, they look unmotivated. And if Littlepage-Buggs is injured, then they are a very uninteresting team. Is it Nikki’s fault? Maybe. She has not had any significant recruiting successes after Littlepage-Buggs. And if her team lacks motivation, there’s no place else to look besides her.

Triple overtime thriller at UC Davis. The Aggies sweep UC San Diego as Megan Norris has 29 boards. UC Davis remains in third place and knocks UC San Diego into a tie with the Anteaters for the lead in The Big West. This game was a thriller.

Also in a late game matching two below average teams in the Big Sky the NAU Lumberjacks outlast Portland State in overtime 88 to 80. The Jacks desperately tried to throw the game away with lousy defense in the last minute but in the OT Portland State could only muster two points as the Jacks pull off a rare road win. Naomi White as she always does got hers with 25 points but she did turn the ball over five times. White is the leading freshman scorer in NCAA and should remain in the top 10 with this effort.

Some believe that Princeton is good enough to get an at-large even if they don't win their tournament.

I think Creme agreed ...at least he did 2 weeks ago

URI-George Mason was close for one quarter, then URI pulled away. A couple of factoids:

URI has more players from France than from the US.

GMU’s Louis Volker is the sister of Marquette’s Lee Volker, who played against UConn today.

The SC guards lead with their off hand clearing space — definitely done push offs going on.

It’s scary how good these two teams are. Every player on the court looks like a pro.

LSU seemed to control the half and led most of the way but SC hung in and leads at half.

LSU looked like they might pull away, then Tessa sank two or three threes in the next minute to tighten it up.

Tessa/Raven Johnson combo 7of10 from 3 keeping SC in the game. Tessa plays best when lights are brightest.

LSU good, but usual inconsistency. Here comes the 2nd half.

Yup. JnJ to me the two best players on the team and I mean no disrespect to Joyce who I love as a player. But the the way to beat SC is to contain Tessa and Raven. Raven to me doesn’t get enough national attention, she’s a player you can’t but help root for.
