Ha. I think Duke is the better team than State, just didn't show it that Monday Hope we get to play y'all in Greensboro.

 Unfortunately Chapel Hill clinched the Triangle trophy today...

Now its's 4 way fight now for the remaining 3 double byes in Greensboro.
I hear ya. We all have our tinted glasses on, I’m sure a UNC fan would disagree.

I’d prefer to run into UNC again in Greensboro than Duke. Felt like we played a very subpar game. Worst quarter of basketball I’ve seen in a long long time. (Although the 2nd quarter against Duke was pretty dreadful too!)

You apparently don't know about Washington's ability to find a way to lose games. Don't worry, you'll be fine.
Told ya. Dawgs start turning it over every possession. Iriafen decided to show up finally.

You know how much moral victories are worth? Absolutely nothing. Washington led most of the game. Sellers outplayed JuJu. But yet again the Dawgs find a way to lose a game. All season long, every game is like this. I've suffered long enough. When can my team be good again?

First 28 min: Wash 43-31
Final 12: USC 38-21
Microcosm of the season. Doesn't matter how much of the game UW outplays their opponent, only takes turning it on for a little bit to go ahead and get the W.

She doesn't construct her teams this way by design. If you miss on recruits, you have to work with who you have. The main reason her stars play deep into games is that all their games tend to be close.

They played well v TX and through 3 quarters were comfortably ahead. They had a brutal scoring drought in Q4, let TX and crowd back in the game. Was a 3pt game w/ 1 min to play. Good win for TX.

Mulkey knows what she is doing. Her team plays hard for her. Listen to some of her post game pressers. She is candid and astute, and of course has mellowed with age. LSU will be there as usual in elite 8.
She can’t win the big games

That’s why she schedules cupcakes. LSU hasn’t beaten any good teams

Several hours later and I'm still salty. Looks like Michigan St. has studied the Washington playbook. Got outscored 12-2 the last 4 minutes. Good job Sparty.

MSU was so close to pulling off the upset.

I just don’t see UCLA as the #1 overall. I feel like they’re in for a major upset come March.

Idk I feel like it’s wide open this year

To me you have about 7-8 teams who can make a run at it. (UCLA, ND, Texas, SC, UConn, USC, LSU, and maybe one other dark horse)

Lot of it will come down to matchups and who is clicking at the right time

Like Jimmy V used to say "Win and Advance". That's what all of these teams need to focus on this season. I love the fact that it's wide open this season. The tournament could be really fun :D

In your post, that looked B A D. It didnt sound as bad in listening, but probably only because she didnt expand on her comment. Someone should have or should later follow up.
NIL, most likely. I've seen no evidence that it produces much at Arizona. The prior AD urged folks not to donate to the NIL collective (????), the NIL collective promptly made itself all about football (surprise, surprise, surprise). Another change was Arizona used to charter everywhere. Not any more.

And she has often spoken about other schools offering large NIL deals.

Arizona is unquestionably cash strapped, for all its coaches are doing very well. I don't think she was referring to her salary which is an inference folks might make, since she is (arguably) overpaid. Personally, I think all the coaches are.

I interpreted it as NIL. But it’s a potentially a bad look to say “we lost because my university is cheap.” There is some nuance — it’s fair for a coach to lament lack of NIL (UConn FB coach Mora did), but you’ve gotta thread the needle diplomatically.
