Yeah 3 straight wins against South Carolina, Kentucky and LSU is looking pretty good for Texas. And before that they thumped Vandy who was ranked at the time.

I'm not going to mince words. If she's gone for an extended period, they are screwed. They have okay depth at all other positions except for hers. She (Ustby) can't be replaced this late in the season.

This would be the very definition of a pyrrhic victory for them.

Consistently construct teams with no PG, no center.

Plays her starters 40 minutes every week running them into the ground while also running an nba style offense of jack up a shot with no passing doesn’t sound like a good coach to me.

Vandy ran away in OT. Blakes broke her own SEC single game scoring record w/ 55. Auburn absolutely blew this one, but good for Vandy.

Natasha Adair is a terrible coach. If you look terrible up in the dictionary you'll see Adair's picture along with her three consecutive 20 loss seasons.

Kim Mulkey is emphatically not a terrible coach nowhere close. Kim Mulkey is an outstanding coach.

In my opinion, this is a transition year for LSU. They lose Angel who was the heart and soul of everything LSU did the last two years and really didn't add anything from the portal/HS ranks to truly aid this years team. Meanwhile they lose to two top 5 teams on the road in competitive contests and are now only 25-2 on the year in line for a 2 seed (the best seed Kim will have earned at LSU). They are performing better than LAST YEARS team which had way more talent.

They singed an amazing HS class, IMO if they do their homework in the portal correctly they will be much improved/more well rounded next year.

Ugh. Today stings.

State imploded in the second quarter. Led by 4 at the end of 1. Trygger picked up her 2nd and sat. Awou came in and picked up her fouls on her first possession. (Ticky tack but oh well). James got her second on a completely boneheaded play at mid court. Wes tried to ride out the 2nd with all of them on the bench and if backfired.

Outscored 18-4 in the second. That’s right, 4 second quarter points. Looked totally lost on offense during that stretch. Rivers just bombing 3s at the end of shot clocks and bad turnovers from the bench. James had 0 points at the half. Rivers was 0-5 from 3 at half. She should not ever take 5 threes in a half.

State stormed back and took a 6 point lead and was at the line to go up by 7 - missed the FT, got their own rebound, Tilda missed a 3 (she was 0-4 from the bonusphere herself) and UNC immediately drills a 3 to make it a 3 point game with maybe 2 minutes to go. That was a huge huge shift.

After both teams exchanged 3s - I thought unc got a very friendly charge call the next possession when state had a pick and roll situation, never thought the UNC player was set. Instead of state getting 2 FTs up 3, it was UNC ball. The cut it to 1.

Up 1 with a 12 second differential State played it out and Saniya settled for a mid range jumper - missed. UNC got another friendly whistle on the ensuing possession and made both FTs. States last play had nothing. Great defense by the Tar Heels there and James should have pulled up and shot it but kept trying to get the corner which never happened.

Much like the Duke game, State outscored the Heels 3 of the 4 quarters but had an atrocious 2nd. Unlike the Duke game, this time it bit them.

Dominated the boards today (+15) but 5-13 from the FT line and 4-20 from 3. Majorly disappointing and a missed opportunity.

Really thought Kelly was terrific for the baby blue. Hate Utsby went down, she’s a hustler. Tragic way for her senior year to end. Hope we run into them again in Greensboro, I think States the better team, but they didn’t prove it today.

Ikr .... By any definition by anyone who has any conception of what basketball is about she's an oustanding coach clearly in the top 50 coaches of all time regardless of men or women.

She doesn't construct her teams this way by design. If you miss on recruits, you have to work with who you have. The main reason her stars play deep into games is that all their games tend to be close.

They played well v TX and through 3 quarters were comfortably ahead. They had a brutal scoring drought in Q4, let TX and crowd back in the game. Was a 3pt game w/ 1 min to play. Good win for TX.

Mulkey knows what she is doing. Her team plays hard for her. Listen to some of her post game pressers. She is candid and astute, and of course has mellowed with age. LSU will be there as usual in elite 8.

I apologize to anyone watching USC @ Washington. After a decent start this game has turned unwatchable. Both teams shooting under 30%, tied at 23 at the half. Have a feeling USC won't continue to do this. Dawgs with a golden opportunity to build up a lead, but they said no thanks.
