NAU and GCU both home 6:00 p.m MST. ESPN Plus.

The Lumberjacks take on Portland State as they continue to tune up for the Big Sky tournament. Coming off a 96 point performance against Montana Loree Payne's crew continues to score the ball but needs to consider ways they might be able to tackle league leading Montana State who remain undefeated in conference and would appear to be the opponent for the conference title tournament matchup next month.

The Lopes work to extend their 20 game winning streak with the first of two challenging home games. Tonight it's Tarleton State third in the WAC and then Saturday the big matchup against second place UT Arlington.

Tarleton is riding a seven game winning streak with their last loss at UT Arlington. The Lopes had to come from behind in the first meeting against Tarleton to eke out a three-point win. In that game GCU was O for 14 from three land which I'm not expecting to happen at home. With that said Tarleton is a tough tough matchup and it was a choice for me about which game to attend. I'm up here in Flagstaff however anticipating a fun game tonight and I'll be able to watch on my phone the really close game down in Phoenix.

TIme for a Tobacco Road showdown between the Methodists and the Baptists, with the Baptists hosting tonight. When a Blue Devil faces off against a Demon Deacon.... all hell breaks loose and you definitely and undoubtedly have to toss out the record books.

Miami gave NC State everything they could handle, and the game was in Raleigh. 76-74 final. I continue to be surprised at how bad the Canes have been this year, this result seems to indicate they were capable of much more. Haley Cavinder is having a fine season that is being wasted.

Louisville beat Florida St. 83-69 in Tallahassee. I questioned FSU a bit several games ago based on the ease of their conference schedule. They've lost 2 in a row since.

Nebraska @ Maryland--Terps were up 14 early, now Huskers are rolling, lead by 22 midway thru Q4. What a turn around in this game!

Make that by 28 with 1:46 to go. YES!!!!!

@nwhoopfan I think we agreed Taylor Jones hasn't improved much in college, but I'll retract that statement after watching her today and vs. SC. She's absolutely dominated Clara Strack today and had a great game against SC too. Also a monster game vs. Tennessee. Earlier in her career I don't think she always produced against good teams but she's been showing up big time in SEC play this season.

I haven't watched a lot of Texas. When I do, it seems like Oldacre is on the floor and Jones on the bench, appears it's either one or the other but not both on the court together. Oldacre presents some matchup problems because of her size and strength.

Anyway, after these last 2 games I probably have to change my stance on Texas. They are right there in the conversation among the top 6 or so in the country.

Louisville slowly working their way up those ACC rankings. More ammunition for a tough OOC schedule to learn for your league games!

Same story all year. Play hard, get behind, find urgency, come up just short. Miami really wasn't awful, just no depth and lost what 11 (fixed, felt like 15) games by less than 10!

NC State has really come on lately. Curious to see them v molten hot ND.

This is accurate-they seem to exclusively sub for one another. Jones seems to be more of a high energy player, always posting up and is really physical. She kind of wears you down and then Oldacre comes in and is incredibly long and strong and just buries opponents in the paint, finishes around the rim and rebounds everything. I think they're proving to be among the best post duos in the country.

Missouri Valley is getting more interesting tonight w/ Northern Iowa pulling off a big upset @ league leading Belmont. Well, they were league leading. Now tied w/ Missouri St. and Drake is 1 game back.

Texas blows out Kentucky, pretty lackluster game for a top 10 matchup. Texas looks far more elite physically than Kentucky does. They've dominated the glass, defensively and completely owned the paint. Kentucky is a borderline top 4 seed IMO. They have some good wins over the likes of Alabama, OU, Louisville and Vandy but their rebounding and depth are so lackluster. They finish out the season with a murderer row's schedule of playing LSU/Tennessee/South Carolina.

With one half in the books both NAU and GCU protecting the home court. The Jacks are scoring 46 first half points) but the inability to defend Portland State shooting 52% does not bode well for Boise.

Down in Phoenix the Lopes are extending the streak to 21, leading by 13 at the half.

North Carolina edges Virginia Tech at home. Georgia Tech goes on the road and loses to Clemson. Just another wacky night in the ACC. Wake Forest oh so close, but can't crack the 50 point barrier against Duke. The game wasn't close, mind you.

Holy smoke! Tenn back to making the math work with their press and 3 v Auburn. Then the 'kids who couldn't shoot straight' proceeded to shoot 55/50/80, with 22 assists!

That's how you win by 40. (and it was 22-20 after Q1)

Getting back to this, I think the MVC Tourney will be fascinating. 1 bid league, a handful of teams near the top of the standings, fighting for their lives to go Dancing.

With KY fading, I think #2 seeds go to b12 #1 and ACC #2 (aka Triangle #1)
