Week 14 - Other Games

this is a good narrative on fau this season. the interesting thing is that in the last ballot,
Every voter had FAU in the Top 25, which can be said of just 16 teams.
How much longer can FAU basketball extend historic win streak? | D'Angelo

food for thought on the question of how far do they fall after the loss.
idk.
credit to NY Post on predicting the loss.

thoughtful.
I credit the NYPost for lining my birdcage.

You know what's great about the BE??? Every game tomorrow is a good one AND on TV.

UConn/GTown
Butler/Marquette
SJU/X (well, sort of)
Nova/Creighton

In that other conference, I never looked forward to checking out conference games that didn't include UConn.
Would be nice to see an upset in either Butler vs. Marquette or SJU vs. Xavier...I think at least one of those two top teams is due for a shocker.

Memphis in a battle with Tulane. It is amazing that there is anyone on this board that thought going to the Big East was a bad idea. Memphis has a solid team having a solid season, and every game is life and death. Tulane doesn't suck, but a loss would be devastating to Memphis because the rest of their schedule is so terrible. Memphis could win every game the rest of the year except for Houston and be lucky to get a 7 seed.

The American was a nightmare of a conference for UConn, and we are lucky that the athletic program survived it.

Edit: Kendrick Davis hero ball cost Memphis the game. Rough loss.

Iowa St hands Kansas another loss.

Oklahoma St handing TCU a loss.

VTech downs Virginia

Winning is tough in CBB.
Iowa ST and OK State helping out the cause, all out non conference wins continue to prop up the metrics.

Does Purdue know time & score here? Feeding Edey down low in a 5 point game under 10 secs?

UNC and Duke are both so talented and yet so mediocre.

So I guess Houston is number one? Purdue after a loss? Bama?

1, 2, 6, 7, 8, 11, 13, 15, 17, 19, 20, 21, 22, 25 all down at least once this week.

12 vs 18 to come.

So 15/25 teams will have lost this week at least once. Crazy year. I guess it could be 16/25 but Zona should win.

X and Marquette should move up a bit to borderline top ten teams, probably 11 and 12 or 12 and 13, depends on Zags.

UConn back to around 18-19. PC drop 2-3 spots to around 18-20. Depends on what voters do with IU and if SM wins or not, I think Miami jumps them.

I think Purdue stays 1

Did anyone watch the Gonzaga-St Mary’s game?the atmosphere for that 3,500 seat arena was nice and loud, it was dynamite. St Mary’s is 9-0 in WCC while Gonzaga is 7-2 after the OT game.

How does the Committee seed St. Mary’s? 20-4 and a 6 NET, but only two Quad 1 wins in Gonzaga and San Diego State, and a pretty soft schedule overall. Pounding mediocre teams is a great way to inflate a team's NET. Is this team a 2 or 3 seed, or a 6 seed?

This is a great point.

Resume metrics say 17th or 26th. BracketMatrix has them at a 5, but that was before Gonzaga win. I think they'd get a 4 seed today

I thought Duke and UNC both looked dangerous… Lively was obscene in the post between blocks and altering shots, not to mention grabbing every single rebound. That adds a whole new element. I despise them.

The UNC guards looked phenomenal. It’s incredible how replacing Brady Manek with a similar player on paper leads to such a different team.

UNC needs to clip their guards wings and give it to Bacot.

This game is being officiated very differently than a Big East game. A foul is a foul here. In the Big East so much is not called then a little touch is called.
