Just for those who care about UConn's ranking, currently #24.

So this week five of 17- 22 lost so far.

#17 PC to X
#19 FAU to UAB
#20 Clemson to BC
#21 IU to Maryland
#22 SDSU to Nevada

Of note for UConn's ranking:
#23 Miami is at #20 Clemson this weekend.
#18 Saint Mary's plays #12 Gonzaga.
#25 Auburn plays #2 Tennessee

College Basketball is a terrible gambling sport because of the late fouling strategy and the tendency to play walk ons if you have a big lead. Both distort the actual point spread.

I'm looking forward to heading to the now legal sportsbook two exits down for the Superbowl and maybe NBA or NHL championship.

NBA regular season is arguably worse than CBB.

You know what's great about the BE??? Every game tomorrow is a good one AND on TV.

UConn/GTown
Butler/Marquette
SJU/X (well, sort of)
Nova/Creighton

In that other conference, I never looked forward to checking out conference games that didn't include UConn.

Fridays tend to be pretty bad days for basketball, but a solid slate today featuring a lot of locals:

5:00:

Yale at Harvard - ESPNU.
Yale might have the most talent in the Ivy, but at 4-3 in conference play, they need this win to help stay in the running for the 4-team Ivy tournament. All teams except for Columbia have a 3-4 or better conference record.

7:00:

VCU @ Saint Louis - ESPN2.
The top two teams in the A-10 standings. The winner will become the only two-loss team in A-10 play.

Cornell @ Princeton - ESPN+: The top two teams currently in the Ivy.

Fairfield @ Quinnipiac - ESPNU. National TV exposure for two locals. Both teams in the middle of the MAAC pack w/ Quinnipiac a low-key conference contender

9:00:

Boise State @ San Diego State - FS1.
Two top-30 KenPom teams and both are atop the MW standings w/ an 8-2 conference record. The top-two defenses in the conference while the addition of Trammell/Parrish/LeDee has helped SDSU become more balanced on their offense.

NBA regular season is unbettable.

I'm no Maven and I bet small for recreation only, I only bet college hoops, and I win small, but I came up ahead at the end of the season last year and Im ahead this year . Although Im ahead a lot less than I was at this point of season last year

The comment you replied to about spreads in college being affected by Fouling and walk ons is why I don't bet so many spreads. If I see one I like Ill take it, but I am much more prone to betting moneylines. If I see a team that I like to win straight up and even if they are a fav and the ML is at or under -200 I hit it a lot. Otherwise I will bundle a bunch of big favs into Parlays with a combo of ML and a spread or two I may like, I usually play 4-6 legs on that . Parlays are generally stupid is what the gambling degenerates tell me. everyone fancies themselves as a pro. I don't fancy myself as that and I don't care. There are many days I have no bets and other days I may have over a dozen teams in different combinations. I read some tout sites, but Ive learned that my gut is better. The touts can be helpful sometimes for a low D1 game I wouldnt normally take, just to add to a parlay, but thats burned me too.

You never know who is going to actually play on a given night.

The NBA would be better off cutting back the number of regular season games if it is going to let 2/3's of its teams play in the playoffs. Play 70 games, space them out better, and then they wouldn't have to rest the stars so much. Or make the playoffs 16 teams and have the regular season mean something.

Two games that will be good, UCONN bc it’s UCONN and Nova vs Creighton

We’re all rooting for Nova id assume? Makes a 4 seed more possible. We need to beat Creighton away to own that tie breaker
Yep - I look at the upcoming games and then look at the BE standings to decide who my fave is that day. LOL

this is a good narrative on fau this season. the interesting thing is that in the last ballot,
Every voter had FAU in the Top 25, which can be said of just 16 teams.
How much longer can FAU basketball extend historic win streak? | D'Angelo

food for thought on the question of how far do they fall after the loss.
idk.
credit to NY Post on predicting the loss.
College basketball odds, pick, prediction for UAB vs. Florida Atlantic Thursday, Feb. 2
thoughtful.
I credit the NYPost for lining my birdcage.

Would be nice to see an upset in either Butler vs. Marquette or SJU vs. Xavier...I think at least one of those two top teams is due for a shocker.

Memphis in a battle with Tulane. It is amazing that there is anyone on this board that thought going to the Big East was a bad idea. Memphis has a solid team having a solid season, and every game is life and death. Tulane doesn't suck, but a loss would be devastating to Memphis because the rest of their schedule is so terrible. Memphis could win every game the rest of the year except for Houston and be lucky to get a 7 seed.

The American was a nightmare of a conference for UConn, and we are lucky that the athletic program survived it.

Edit: Kendrick Davis hero ball cost Memphis the game. Rough loss.

Iowa St hands Kansas another loss.

Oklahoma St handing TCU a loss.

VTech downs Virginia

Winning is tough in CBB.
Iowa ST and OK State helping out the cause, all out non conference wins continue to prop up the metrics.

Does Purdue know time & score here? Feeding Edey down low in a 5 point game under 10 secs?
