Week 14 - Feb 5 to 11

Looks like the altitude didn’t bother Beers and Gardiner . Beavers held Utah to 44 points on their own floor!

Stanford choked up a 7 point lead late, going OT. They don't seem to like playing in Seattle lately.

edit--they didn't score the last 2 minutes of regulation, and had a number of turnovers

My god. Does Stanford not know how to run a simple inbound play? That was an NC State–caliber collapse to allow lowly Washington to take them to overtime.

Stanford was up as much as 7 in OT and trying to blow it again, but the bell might save them.

63-59 final Stanford.

Cal w/ a big win on the road @ Washington St.

USC easily over Arizona St., 31 for Juju.

Missouri St. thumped Belmont, those 2 are tied for second, 1 game back of Drake in the Missouri Valley.

From your lips to my pulsating heart and clenched white knuckles...
I nearly pulled it off again. Washington was shooting 10% from the floor the first 15 minutes of the game, once I noted that they started hitting some shots. You probably never would've forgiven me if the Dawgs pulled off the upset. But seriously, how did the Card not have them completely buried after 15 minutes of mind numbing offensive ineptitude by UW?

Wait, wasn't there all kinds of stuff in the rumor mill about Gilbert from Arizona? According to the box score she's playing tonight.

Betts not real effective in her return. Looks like Rice and Jacquez have done almost all of the scoring for UCLA.

Stanford just getting a head start on assuming the trademark ACC identity of playing down to bad opponents.

I shudder to think what Stanford will look like next year if Brink forgoes the 5th year and isn't there to bail them out of these games.

Happy Saturday y'all! We're up to five losses by top 25 teams, and barring any upsets, there will be at least one today (WV/Baylor), and two tomorrow (L'ville/Syr, OR St/CO). Here's a look at today's slate, along with potential impact in Big12 standings.

With seven games left in B12 season, OK & WV can strengthen their positions as a top 4 seed with a bye in the B12 tourney. Texas needs a win to stay there. BYU, Houston, TCU, and UCF have a bit of work to do, to unrelegate themselves from a double play in situation.

Also snuck in the Navy/Army game on behalf of my hub (Go Navy!), hoping that the Mids get their N* win. :D

Doesn't tomorrow's UConn/SC count????

Today is the MAC-Sun Belt Challenge. I know everybody has been waiting for that. Don't deny it.

Huge win for Nova / huge loss for Marquette

55-52 in Milwaukee

Marquette falling onto the bubble

Creme had talked about no one moving out of his field because none of the first out teams were winning. Villanova, in his 2nd four out, making a move

Gives Nova a fighting chance for a bid and, and the BE could potentially get 4 in.

But Marquette's room for error is closing quickly. Their 4 losses to non-UConn teams in BE play have been by 5, 3, 3 and 1 points.

Big win by Baylor over WV to at least temporarily stop the bleeding. I was prepared to drop them out of the top 25,
West Virginia's B12 schedule is very backloaded. Seven of their 9 wins had come against Cincinnati (x2), UCF (x2), Houston, BYU and Texas Tech.

NAU with a clutch road trip complete the sweep of the Montana schools with a 13-point win MSU. With one loss in conference the Jacks remain in first place and with a win over second place EWU look to lock up the number one seed in the conference tournament.

Sophomore Sophie Glancey has a coming out party with her second consecutive 30-point game.

Sophie dominated both the Grizz and Bobcats with 27 for 39 shooting for 60 points in leading Coach Payne's squad to their 8th consecutive win.
