Top 25 today so far:
HELPS HURTS
#2 Alabama, Q1 loss to Oklahoma

#3 Houston, Q3 win over Cincy
#7 Virginia, Q4 win over BC
#12 Iowa St., Q1 loss to Missouri
#13 Xavier, Q1 loss to Creighton
#15 Auburn, Q1 loss to WVU
#16 Marquette, Q3 win over DePaul
#17 Baylor, Q1 win over Arkansas
#18 Charlotte, Q3 loss to Hofstra (ouch)
#20 Miami, Q1 loss to Pitt!!!
#21 FAU, Q4 win over W. Kentucky
------------
#13 TCU starting OT @Miss St.

Haven't been on the Pitt board yet, but I think that after today, there might be some opinions that Capel was actually the right guy. I thought Pitt was toast at halftime, and then at least four times in last 10 minutes when every run they made was immediately answered by Miami. And then with a one point lead, Pitt inbounder threw a bounce pass that hit the OB line under 10 seconds. But Pitt had consecutive stops, including just ripping the ball away from Wong. Pretty damned impressive win. And Pitt's first sellout since 2019.

TCU down

One of the UTs will lose, so 8 teams today.

What a crazy year.

Watching Texas vs Tennessee. I think Tennessee is the best team in the country. What may prevent them from winning the championship is the coach. No confidence in Rick Barnes.

Freaking Clemson. Three of their last six wins have been by one point, and all won in final two minutes. They just don't seem that talented, but they know how to close.

That would be a stupid conclusion to draw. Beating an overrated Miami at home doesn’t make up for years of irrelevance and 7 losses this year. He’s been a disastrous hire for a once very strong program.

Dajuan Harris for Kansas has really gotten so good. Great qb type pg.

Sucks to say this but Pitt has a better team than Uconn this year . Theyll look really good

Capel is still in a precarious position due to nepotism on staff, but he's got a team that will play for him, and he's making smart coaching decisions. Pitt has as many Q1 wins as UConn, even though they realistically only go 6 deep with Hugley sidelined. They're fun to watch. Hinson and Burton would both find significant minutes in Storrs.

This is absurd. If you want to make the claim they are playing better right now, fine but let’s not pretend OOC didn’t happen. For that matter they lost to FSU a week ago. Pitt plays to its competition way too much.

Big 12 went 7-3 yesterday against SEC.

Miss St and Mizzou both won at home against ranked Big12 teams, WVU won at home against a ranked Auburn team. Otherwise pretty much chalk for the rest of the match ups. Kansas righted its ship with a road win at Lexington at night.

Anyone else watch the Texas @ Tennessee game?

Say what you want about Rick Barnes, but I really like the Vols' roster and style of play.

Their style is very similar to Houston: defend like heck (KenPom's #1 rated defense) and crash the offensive boards (#2 in offensive rebounding rate).

More importantly, they play as a team: six guys average between 8.6-12.2 ppg and they go ten deep. I love how Josiah Jordan-James and Julian Phillips are both top-20 recruits, but dedicate play to what's best for the team.

I LOVE sophomore point guard Zakai Zeigler: just 5'9, but a defensive menace and the type of confident true point guard UConn is missing this year.

Any given day, more so than ever IMO

Rather be blown out by 25 once than lose 6 of 8 though!
Touché, but in fairness they’ve lost 3 times by double digits this year, (including to the good guys.) Lots of parity this year in college bball.

They haven't been in many close games, but the ones they've been in they've won, so are #45 in luck. Opposite to UConn who is #331 in luck per KenPom.

Wonder how Alabama fans are taking that thrashing last night by near .500 Oklahoma….So how do you judge a team when it comes to losses? Some people say they would rather lose by 4 than 24? Not sure I agree….having many close losses can show that you can compete with anyone and you don’t takes nights off…..losing big like Alabama can mean a variety of different reasons… that either you lose mental focus during some games when you are down or don’t play hard throughout games… or can have cold shooting nights if you take a lot of threes….or just maybe you are not as good as your ranking if you are winning close games and losing big in your losses

Went to Iona today with the kids I coach for a heck of a comeback win! Down 17 in the first and ended up winning by eight.

Tons of fun bringing fifteen players (they got to play in the court after the game) and a bunch of parents, everyone at Iona was super helpful and friendly!
