I think Hidalgo at Texas would make a lot of sense. And I think the SEC is the perfect conference to go to if you want to prepare for the WNBA.

Texas losing Harmon.
SCar losing Raven
UCLA losing Rice

BUT, do they want her. None of those coaches like free lancers. PG's are expected to be team leaders - not scoring leaders. She has the skills, but would she fit?

How would she and Fulwiley fit at LSU? They would get a bunch of steals!
After losing Raven and Ta'Niya, having interest in Hannah, should she leave ND, would make sense. That said, I am anticipating a huge jump from Mouse and I believe that Tessa will continue to grow into a superstar guard. Those two factors would make it less likely that Hannah lands in Columbia.

As for Texas and Hannah, meh. She may be a good fit stylistically for Texas, but her personality may clash with that of Vic (who has shown himself to be rather sensitive these last few weeks).

In a weather delayed game being played in Birmingham, Ole Miss takes a 19-point lead over Vanderbilt into halftime.

.-.
LSU and Louisville looking good for 2 seeds

Iowa with injury and big home road loss plus 2 straight losses for Vandy puts them in trouble.

Gotcha. There's a lot of crazy this early in comparing conference vs overall standings, I just like to see what happened over the next few weeks.
With the extended conferences and very few home/home games, even half way through the conference schedule teams can have either really tough games in the books, or be facing a really tough home stretch. TN for example plays 7 ranked conference foes and only 2 unranked the rest of the way including current #3, 4 , 5, 6, 10, and 17 plus the OOC #1 this Sunday having started conference play 6-0 they could well end up with 7 conference losses. and a 9-7 record.

I feel like this would be a terrible choice for Texas. Bryanna Preston is the exact mold of PG that Vic likes and is waiting in the wings. They also have Booker who did an excellent job running point as a freshman. Hidalgo coming in and taking 15+ shots per game and running all over the court defensively doesn't fit in with Texas's style of play. Not to mention Texas is absolutely loaded next year on the wing and needs a pass first PG to distribute the ball.

Somewhat ironically, I think TCU would be a good fit for Hannah if she were to leave. Campbell can build the team around her, they have money to pay players well along with a couple of nice returning pieces in Hunter and Silva. Maryland and Ole Miss are other options too. Kentucky too with Tonie Morgan graduating.

+ West Virginia, perhaps? Hidalgo is enough of a nightmare without a pressing system. WVU also could benefit from a go-to bucket getter. But if she leaves, I bet it’ll be for a Final Four contender.

Agreed. I'm just not sure what team realistically takes her. I don't mean this disrespectfully but I don't think she's an easy player to fit into an existing system, similar to how it'd be difficult to implement a Juju Watkins type player who has a distinct style of play and commands a lot of touches and attention. I also think she's a harder "sell" due to rumored team chemistry issues a year ago (everyone transferred out while she stayed), plus the homophobic comments from a couple years ago bring up some red flags that I don't see Final Four teams gambling on. Programs like UCONN, Texas, LSU and South Carolina all have the necessary pieces in the backcourt to make a Final Four run next year so I don't think the juice is worth the squeeze for those programs.

I actually think USC could be an interesting fit here too. I don't think there's enough shots to go around to feed her, Juju, Hall, Davidson, Fagan and Smith, but USC could benefit from a defensive hawk like Hidalgo to pressure opposing point guards since they have elite defenders in Watkins/Davidson able to cover case Hidalgo gambles on steals. They need a PG and it'd be a good opportunity for Hannah to prove herself as a passing point guard for WNBA scouts. This might be a terrible take on my end but fun to think about.

I also think if she stays at Notre Dame they'll be primed to have a big season next year with better recruits and probably a decent portal pickup or two. Bransford/Prosper are good complimentary pieces and they're a decent forward away from being a dangerous Sweet 16 team.

Wow, this is a whole lot of speculation considering there's absolutely no indication that Hidalgo is transferring, right?

I mean we could do this for literally every player in the country (unless they play for UConn, thems the rules).

FINALLY!! A team from Central NC defeats William & Mary

Some speculation out there that I may transfer from Walgreens to CVS. How do you call yourself a reputable company when you don't even have a drop of Cheerwine in the whole store. 😤 😤 😤

Can we not discuss any other players transferring right now, or put it in the team/conference threads? We have a lot of good games today and tomorrow:

Is it normal for Ivy League teams to have a game two days in a row, ie Princeton playing yesterday and today?

Yes.
Cuts down on expenses and time away from campus and missed classes. Probably leave ~noon on Friday and back midnight Saturday

Teams are grouped in pairs (“travel partners”) — penn/prin, colu/corn, Yale/brown, Harv/dart.

Columbia at Princeton last night. Tonight penn
Cornell at Penn last night. Tonight Princeton.

Hopefully the Wake at Duke game tomorrow takes place. Snowing heavily right now in NC and will continue throughout the day and night. It's only a 82 mile trip via the Interstate, so I'm hopeful.

Wake is already in Durham. I think making sure they have officials is the major issue now.
