A loss on the road to a #1 seed, even if lopsided, won't have much effect if any on Texas's projected seeding. He already has Texas as a #2 seed. It would be different if Texas were having this performance against a lesser team.Hmmm. SC up 19 over Texas at the end of the 3rd Q. No one from UT in double figures as of yet. Should be an interesting bracketology on Tuesday.
You might be right. It might depend on how the #3 seeds, KSU, TCU, KY, and MD have done in the last week, as Texas is the 4th two seed.A loss on the road to a #1 seed, even if lopsided, won't have much effect if any on Texas's projected seeding. I don't believe this is true. It's not always possible to deduce what a team's "true" seed is from the bracket, but Texas is currently the #2 seed in the fourth bracket (with USC), which in a true S curve would make Texas the top #2 seed. You might be right. It might depend on how the #3 seeds, KSU, TCU, KY, and MD have done in the last week, as Texas is the 4th two seed.
It's one game, on the road, against a really good team.SC is still the queen of the SEC, I thought Texas would have had more game today, being the #1 Net team. Never underestimate Coach Staley, she still brings it.
And shot less than 30%. Not sure how impressive that stat is.Texas had 28 more field goal attempts than SC
It's impressive they were able to get so many O-boards and force so many turnovers against SC, but at some point you have to put the ball through the hoop for any of that to matter. And shot less than 30%. Not sure how impressive that stat is.
And Texas gets a do over at home next month. Btw, the Horn’s OLDACRE was the best Big on the floor. Maybe the best big we have seen all year. Betts has better skills but Oldacre is a better “ bull.”It's one game, on the road, against a really good team.
As I recall, SC took a similar spanking at UCLA. I guess Staley chose not to "bring it" that day.
Agreed. It's impressive they were able to get so many O-boards and force so many turnovers against SC, but at some point you have to put the ball through the hoop for any of that to matter.
SC also shot extremely well, over 50%, and 12-15 from the FT line. I think in the first half they were over 70% FG, then cooled off in the second half but Texas couldn't capitalize.
I think they misheard me when I said they needed to win both of their games this week.Iowa is laying an egg. Their season is unraveling.
That’s strange, seeing as how she was a great point guard.Kara seems like a coach that only understands defense.
Why the beat down on UVA? I actually think Mo is a very good point guard who can also shoot. And I think Coach Mox has done a decent job, given what she inherited from Tina (a mess) and has had zero nil $$. The win on the road against Clemson was a good one too.Looks like it. She has five assistants, and only one of them is new to the staff this year. What do they get paid to do? The bald-headed dude is the former director of player development--yet the players aren't developing. Toby looks like she's actually regressing. Reigan has disappeared. Jadyn still can't shoot.
They are in danger of losing to a poorly-coached team with a NET rating hovering around 100--led by a short SG masquerading as a PG and a twig that Miami didn't want anymore. That is INEXCUSABLE for a fifth-year head coach.
Not quite as bad in Q4, but still lopsided. 26-10. 54-10 in the 2nd half. Following a flip flopped score of 49-18 in the 1st half. That might be the craziest in game turn around I've ever heard of.Pitt trailed SMU by 31 points at halftime but just outscored them 28-0 (yes, 28 to zero) in 3Q to cut the lead to 3.
Not sure I've ever seen anything quite like that.
The 817 is a TX area code.Hard to get assists when you’re 3 for 817.
Losing conference games at home is not a good strategy for making the tournament.I think they misheard me when I said they needed to win both of their games this week.
