SC is still the queen of the SEC, I thought Texas would have had more game today, being the #1 Net team. Never underestimate Coach Staley, she still brings it.
It's one game, on the road, against a really good team.

As I recall, SC took a similar spanking at UCLA. I guess Staley chose not to "bring it" that day.

Texas had 28 more field goal attempts than SC

And shot less than 30%. Not sure how impressive that stat is.
It's impressive they were able to get so many O-boards and force so many turnovers against SC, but at some point you have to put the ball through the hoop for any of that to matter.

SC also shot extremely well, over 50%, and 12-15 from the FT line. I think in the first half they were over 70% FG, then cooled off in the second half but Texas couldn't capitalize.

And Texas gets a do over at home next month. Btw, the Horn’s OLDACRE was the best Big on the floor. Maybe the best big we have seen all year. Betts has better skills but Oldacre is a better “ bull.”

Duke- UVa
Ohiost-Oregon
ND - Clemson
UNC-BC

…But
SC-Tex is the blowout of the day

Agreed.

Looks like it. She has five assistants, and only one of them is new to the staff this year. What do they get paid to do? The bald-headed dude is the former director of player development--yet the players aren't developing. Toby looks like she's actually regressing. Reigan has disappeared. Jadyn still can't shoot.

They are in danger of losing to a poorly-coached team with a NET rating hovering around 100--led by a short SG masquerading as a PG and a twig that Miami didn't want anymore. That is INEXCUSABLE for a fifth-year head coach.
Why the beat down on UVA? I actually think Mo is a very good point guard who can also shoot. And I think Coach Mox has done a decent job, given what she inherited from Tina (a mess) and has had zero nil $$. The win on the road against Clemson was a good one too.

What a great day of basketball games! That Duke/VA game was exciting. South Carolina/Texas was a shocker. I thought Texas would make it tough for South Carolina and keep it close, but Coach Staley continues to put on a masterful display of coaching by showing another level of her South Carolina program. Well done, Coach Staley.

Arkansas/Lady Vols-Coach Neighbors just does not have the horses to keep up with a lot of these SEC teams, especially teams like the Lady Vols. The Lady Vols were just too much for Arkansas.

McMiller was back for Rutgers, scored 33 but not enough. Nebraska won 69-62. Prince had 24.

Pitt trailed SMU by 31 points at halftime but just outscored them 28-0 (yes, 28 to zero) in 3Q to cut the lead to 3.

Not sure I've ever seen anything quite like that.
Not quite as bad in Q4, but still lopsided. 26-10. 54-10 in the 2nd half. Following a flip flopped score of 49-18 in the 1st half. That might be the craziest in game turn around I've ever heard of.

Kymora is a good guard--not a good PG. Her decision making is terrible and she does not see the whole floor well. She's a very right-hand dominant scoring guard. There are plenty of those in the ACC--and most are better than she is. But it's not all on her--Coach Mox is a substandard ACC coach.

Mox is clearly better than Tina Thompson, but she has not elevated the program to the acceptable standard (double-digit ACC wins and NCAA tournament). She let her mouth get in the way of realistic expectations. Neither she nor her staff knew anything about the ACC coming in (she brought a MVC staff with her, which was the epitome of arrogant), and it showed. She's still showing that she's not an ACC-level coach. She's also struggling to bring in ACC-caliber post talent. Her best post players since she's been the UVA coach were recruited/brought in originally by Tina.

Clemson is not a good team. A win over them doesn't matter for a third-year ACC head coach who is supposed to have her team in the NCAA tournament mix. Instead, her team has a NET rating in/near the 100s.

Why give NIL money to a team that hasn't proven to be much better than 0.500? What Alexis is doing is foolish, IMO. You're going to end up with a bunch of overpaid players who still won't compete for championships. He should've given the money to Tony Bennett's team last year.

Sometimes the better team just wins, in spite of the “stats”, and sometimes convincingly, like today Plebe.

Weak sauce against a coach who is with only 3 losses the past 3 1/2 seasons, playing in one of the top conferences in the nation. But hey, you do you.

No, not in spite of the stats. They won thanks to a massive differential in shooting percentage, as I pointed out, which overcame their deficit in turnovers and offensive rebounding. The stats don't lie; you just have to know how to analyze them.

.-.
Welp. Iowa on a 3 game losing streak and 4 losses in conference play. A drop off was expected, but I didn't see these types of struggles happening.
None of these losses are terribly surprising. They're not losing to bad teams. I'll be surprised if they lose to the likes of Wisconsin, Rutgers and Purdue.

Yes and no to me. The Ilinois game, with their 2 key guards out for the season was a win they should have had. The stats for Stuelke and Affolter have been up and down, including being a combined 2-7 today. I get BIG10 conference play would be a grind, but something doesn't seem right with the team.

Just how good was the team supposed to be without Clark? Borderline top 35 or top 40 sounds about right to me.

I get where you're coming from but something still seems off. The up and down season Stuelke and Affolter seem to be having is perplexing. There are other programs, who also have gone through roster turnovers and they're managing okay (e.g. Maryland, Michigan State).
