Week 10 - Jan 5 to 11

Let’s have a discussion about Banghart…

I don’t know how Banghart attracts recruits to UNC.
UNC can recruit itself a little. Academics, Jordan school etc

Now you still gotta work to land people but there are lots of intrinsic and appealing things about the school that is a draw for many

Yeah unfortunately.

I’ve heard all my life about UNC being this sleeping giant in football. They constantly recruit well across the board in all sports. But just like with the football team there, Banghart consistently does less with more than near about anyone.

Two things.

Why was Rori Harmon on the bench?

Fulwiley didn’t start and she didn’t finish the game. I have said repeatedly that Williams is the best player on this team. You think Fulwiley got the message? She obviously has not secured Kim’s full trust.
He did say in the post game presser that the team was very selfish today. That Oldacre was 6-9 and she didn't get nearly enough touches. He was disappointed in the leadership and toughness of the team. he was specifically asked about it and his answer was "well we played better didn't we? Rory wasn't playing real well and I decided to give Bry a chance and she played much better".

He was EXTREMELY hard on the team. Way harder than Geno would be in a 5 point loss to a legit top 10 team. I thought he was overly critical of the team, and it was a really bad look on him. He did say that he didn't prepare the team properly for the game so he'll take the blame, but then went on to blast the toughness, decision making, effort, etc. of his team. Pretty shameful IMHO for an elite coach.

Will definitely watch the game before I listen to his post game comments. There have been a few posts on social media who have also expressed their disappointment in how he spoke about the game.

UConn telling Vic "hold my beer" after playing #1 USC, #1 UCLA, and #1 South Carolina.

You play who they tell you to play and where to play it.
I agree with you but Vic was b*tching about the SEC scheduling.

Tough 85-81 home loss for the Ducks on what was a 50-50 game vs Michigan State. Well played by both teams with similar shooting pct, 3 pt pct, TO's and Steals. Ducks had 17-11 advantage is assists but the defining stat was the 40-30 rebound advantage for MSU including 16-8 in O boards.

Spartans got it done in crunch time (similar to Michigan game) and the Ducks did not. 2-3 in League currently. Next game likely road loss @ Iowa, then 50-50 game @ Wisc, then two at home v. MINN and PSU. This fan hopes Oregon can end this 4 game run with 3-1.

We shall see.

Technically, no because they didn't need double OT to do so. 😉

Oregon has been fun to watch as this a very different style of play compared to the last few seasons. While they still have depth in the post/forward position, they move a lot better in my opinion. Fiso is an efficient scorer and the vibe around the team is really positive. Looking forward to see how they fare during the rest of conference play.
