Week 10 - Jan 5 to 11

IDK if UNC is lucky they had a horrible first half, and are only down 6. Or if UNC and ND are just both awful

Tried to make some more lunch money by betting against Notre Dame

Trash *** team from Chapel Hill

Regarding Coach Yo not getting respect, for me, it's that I don't recall her having much success developing her own recruits over the transfers she brings in.
I'm not sure you should hold that against a coach in this modern era, because so many players come and go from most programs.

Players do come and go, but who has she recruited that has had any impact on her teams? Genuine question.

I honestly can't think of anyone. That's my point though. There are other programs that get most of their talent thru the portal. I think some coaches really do look at recruiting Fr. and trying to teach them to be good basketball players as a waste of time.

@nwhoopfan should I trust your Huskies

Dang you, I think you made me jinx my team again. Got off to a good start (24-15 in Q1), but it's been downhill since. Now clinging to a 1 point lead late in Q3.

This team is really frustrating me. There is talent, but the whole is less than the sum of the parts. STILL waiting to be impressed by Coach Langley. Here's a big secret, I don't think she's ever gonna get there.

Northwestern vs. Rutgers in today's "somebody has to win" game. Both coming in 0-5 in conference.

And there have been discussions as to whether that is a successful model (e.g. TCU). Then there are others like UConn, Maryland, etc., who can do both. Personally I think that's the better model.

I agree I think supplementing your team thru the portal is better than being almost completely dependent on it. But only a very small handful of schools are capable of bringing in anything even in the neighborhood of the kind of talent UConn gets thru recruiting out of HS. So trying to do what UConn does is a non starter for almost everybody else.

Huh? Plenty of programs can. I just listed UConn and Maryland because they were the first two that came to mind.

I'm saying only a few programs can get talent similar to what UConn does. Anybody can go out and recruit Fr. and try to develop them.
