Week 10 - Jan 5 to 11

I don't have a horse in the race (aside from UCONN), but I would really like it for all the really good teams out there to get all possible injured players back (thinking of Key-UK, Brown-ISU, Smith-USC and others).

My very quick top-o-head rankings (NOT an AP ranking):

  1. UConn
  2. UCLA
  3. Texas
  4. SoCar
  5. Vandy
  6. Kentucky
  7. Louisville
  8. Michigan
  9. LSU
  10. Oklahoma
  11. TCU
  12. Maryland
  13. Iowa
  14. Baylor
  15. TexTech
  16. Mich St
Bubbling under: OleMiss, OhioSt

Ohio St. just beat Maryland by double digits in College Park, so...

Michigan St. down by double digits in Q1, came back to win on the road again. This time at Oregon. They didn't run away with the game the way they did at Washington, but it's still a road win.

Arizona St. getting clobbered by TCU.

A few of these teams that were undefeated well into the season, once they lose once they keep losing.

There was a question about Feuerbach from Iowa. She played today. Indiana was up big early, but Iowa battled back to win.

Impressive win for Ohio State. Maryland got off to a great start. Kylee Kitts was hoooooping. Kinda outplayed a senior in Yardin Garzon tho Yardini played fine. I just think Maryland needed a bit more from Saylor, but Ohio State got a lot of really good contributions.
I caught some of the Duke Stanford game. Duke continues to have like 4 quality bigs. Delaney Thomas definitely looks better than last year and has really been balling recently. I'm still a bit underwhelmed by their offense but they might be the best team in the ACC regardless.
I did catch a little of TCU vs Arizona State. Wasn't really competitive but ASU shouldn't hold their head. I actually was watching TCU more closely. It seems like suarez has really cooled off, which imo takes them from being a top 10 team to more top 15.
I did watch a lot of LSU and Texas. Not my favorite game. Loved the intensity and environment. Didn't love the offense. It's scary, I guess this is the concept behind systems and coaching. Like Texas still can't hit threes or get going in transition. LSU still playing point guard by committee and iso ball. Feel like I'm watching the same program over the last two years with different bodies. IDK.
Going to finish the day watching Nebraska vs UCLA.

Okay, what culinary delights will @triaddukefan be indulging in after the road sweep in the Bay Area?

Thanks to Chapel Hill and Oklahoma..... probably leftover tacos from last night...
.HE HAS NO MONEY SINCE HE BET IT ON HIS SWORN ENEMY

Only lost 5 bucks on that mediocre light blue team, but a valuable lesson was learned.

UConn; SC; then it doesn’t matter.

TV commentators praising Chit-Chat and Stuelke for their second half performances, but Feuerbach won the game for them with her defense in the 2nd half on Ciezki. Had 19 in the 1st half but only 2 in the 2nd once they put Kylie on her.

Two things.

Why was Rori Harmon on the bench?

Fulwiley didn’t start and she didn’t finish the game. I have said repeatedly that Williams is the best player on this team. You think Fulwiley got the message? She obviously has not secured Kim’s full trust.

I’m baffled how both UNC and USC are imploding. I didn’t think Gottlieb was a great coach, but I did have some hope that Banghart would have some success after moving up to the P4.
Where do I start? lol. Kennedy Smith didn’t play. But, IMO…their biggest issue is a consistent third scorer. You have Dunn, Davidson…and Londynn Joness (sometimes). And the latter’s offense is limited. OH…and no bench.

Harmon had foul trouble and evidently Vic thought they were playing better with Preston.

Fulwiley was her normal self. Looked great at times, left you shaking your head at other times.

Wow…re: Harmon. I would ride her until the wheels come off because she can impact a game in so many ways.
