Week 1 games (Nov. 25-29)

Not just Oregon. I don't think the Pac-12 has ever seen a player like her, and you'd be hard pressed to come up with analogs at the national level. The comparison to Candace Parker is in the ballpark, but Sedona is about 3 inches taller even.

I agree. Might be premature to overhype her but I've never seen a player her size who moves as well as Prince does, and it appears she has really good touch around the basket, similar to a Parker or Nneka. When most bigs take 15 foot jumpers, they often take more time to gather and shoot, but Prince's has a quick smooth release like a guard. It's effortless and just looks so pretty. No idea how she'll do against better teams, but she was outstanding in her first collegiate game.

I was just thinking about this comparison thing, and the one reference point that came to mind is Bill Walton with the feathery touch and sense of the game. As you say, it's premature to christen her anything until she excels against better competition, but that's a toolkit that just doesn't come around often.

Well maybe I greatly overestimated LSU, which caused me to also overestimate BYU. Washington up 12-6 more than halfway thru Q1.

LSU is laughably bad. I wouldn't take anything from beating them.

22-14 Washington thru Q1. They're probably not going to continue shooting 70% from the floor, and BYU might improve from 31%. Should be a larger margin one would think, but BYU has a 7-0 points off turnovers advantage.

How many years of eligibility does Sedona have? Did she ever suit up for Texas? Or was it two years with injury, and then the transfer year? I’d guess she only plays two seasons max at Oregon if she looks like a high draft pick.

So happy to finally see her back on the court.

Missed one year with injury and another on the transfer. But she has 4 full years of eligibility remaining, in theory, because this season no longer counts against anyone's five-year clock.

Well not surprisingly Washington's FG% has come way down, but they're leading 37-31 at the half. Nearly shut down Gonzales so far. Fr. Sadler is going off for the Dawgs w/ 13 points and 5 boards.

I honestly think she will win POTY.

As Plebe mentioned, up to 4 and she could probably petition for a 5th if she really wanted to, although I dont see her trying to spend 7 years in college.

She'll be draft eligible in 2022, so realistically I think she stays 2-3 years max since she'll have her degree and will likely be a high pick. She's also been vocal about athletes getting paid and her medical bills from Texas, so my guess is she starts playing pro ball once she has her degree and eligible to.

I don't know if it was mentioned earlier in this thread...but UNC just beat the living tar out of UNC-Greensboro today, 96-35.

Gonzales and Harding are a combined 4-22. I don't know if it's UW's defense or just an off night. 45-34 not quite halfway thru Q3.

I hope I don't jinx anything. Washington up 20 now just about end of Q3.

Missouri State on an 18-2 run to take the lead in 3Q over Maryland, after trailing by as much as 16 in the 2nd quarter. The Bears of Springfield are a tough and experienced squad.
Impressive win by Missouri State. Great program. Watched them play at Oregon State last year. They are very well coached. Sign of a good program when they can win against a Power 5 school after losing their #1 scorer from the year before.

Most impressive team of the day was a tie for me. Can’t decide between Tennessee or UNC

Ain't no need to mention the final on this board. :( My Spartans are in rebuilding mode.... WE WILL BE BACK

71-45 w/ less than 3 minutes left. Gonzales and Harding 4-27. Sadler has 23. I gotta think this is a fairly shocking result.

77-48 final. I need @triaddukefan to help me out with a meme to express my happiness and surprise.

Good heavens no. They both played the Little Sisters of the Poor and Downtrodden at home. Those were basically exhibitions. WKU is not even a shell of the team it was last year, and UNCG is, well, UNCG (sorry @triaddukefan ).

How about we recognize an actual accomplishment like what Missouri State did in going on a second half rampage and taking down an elite program on a neutral court.

:( Dag Plebe.... I thought we were better than this.... my spartans are in rebuilding mode and played without its best player as well

And the exact same thing is true about Western Kentucky -- major rebuilding mode and their best player is still in Egypt.
