Week 1 games (Nov. 25-29)

We'll see if they're overrated tomorrow evening
It's actually gonna be tough to judge because Maryland, from what I saw in their first game, is very disjointed right now and has a lot of improvement to make in terms of cohesion and flow. Lots of players who, though individually talented, haven't ever played an actual game together before.

I thought Chavez for sure, maybe Sabally. Not sure which they would've replaced.
Yeah same in place of Shelley. But it’s weird b/c they don’t have a true SF, so I guess it’s a 3 guard lineup this season. Seems to be working in their favor so far up 50-23

Mikesell 7-8 behind the arc. Most of them have been wide open. Maybe they want to try guarding her out there?

Arkansas quite fortunate to survive with a win, as the injuries to Morehouse and Stanley early in 4Q killed all of FGCU's momentum. So they escape with a win against a team that just got destroyed by Missouri State yesterday. Razorbacks continuing their status as one of the more overrated teams in college basketball.
Oh so that explains the meltdown by FGCU in the 4th... I still think they’re going to give MD a game tomorrow, Slocum will be extra motivated to take down her first school. Terps have to limit Ramirez, Dungee & Slocum 3-pt attack!

Jeez, Oregon up 71-25 at the half. I think they're going to be okay despite losing 4 starters. Strange as it may sound, I think I might be most impressed w/ Giomi. Brutally efficient in her limited minutes, just keeps getting buckets and grabbing rebounds.

Mikesell is an impressive shooter. I would’ve loved to have her at SC.

.-.
Oregon is up 71-25 at the half....I know Seattle isn't a very good team but the ball movement looks stellar. They also might have the best 3pt shooting team in the country with Chavez, Scherr, Parrish, Boley, Shelley, and Mikesell who all have great looking strokes. If ball movement stays strong against better teams, they're a Final Four contender IMO.

Isn't that nice. Checked the scoreboard and saw #15 Iowa St. about to be upset. ESPN experiencing Tech. difficulties. GEE thanks!!

Did Dawn recruit her? (Sorry, I'm not a big recruiting follower.)

Surprisingly their free feed. :rolleyes::rolleyes::rolleyes:

Oregon St. about to start streaming (also Pac 12 site), unfortunately against an NAIA opponent.

edit--starters Jones, Corosdale, Mack, Goodman, Goforth

Looking forward to DePaul / TAMU 5PM. Hope the feed is good.

This is a good time for me to point out that I had South Dakota State ranked ahead of Iowa State on my BY25 ballot  . The Jacks take down the Cyclones 76-69, surviving significant foul trouble in the process, as 3 starters ended up fouling out.

Myah Selland, whom I've been talking up at every opportunity, posts a highly efficient 19 points in just 23 minutes, plus 5 rebounds, 2 blocks, 2 assists and a steal to boot.

Ashley Joens goes off for 35 and 12 in the losing effort. She made a major living at the FT line (14-15) but wasn't greatly efficient from the field (9-22). The rest of ISU's players were an awful 11-40 FG.

Different starters for 2nd half for Ducks. Chavez, Giomi and Sabally out there w/ Shelley and Boley.

Word was SC was among teams recruiting her after her transfer. I don’t recall her among the names of players SC was recruiting out of high school.

Having any luck? I'm getting the dreaded "technical difficulties." Sigh.

From the box score it appears Jordan Nixon started for A&M and Destiny Pitts already came in off the bench. No sign of Zaay Green yet (was she ever ruled eligible?).

As a transfer we did. Not sure if we did out of high school. She was at the top of our list for transfers. Lots of mutual interest.. but Oregon won out. Great pairing as well.

Ragged start for Oregon St. Up 19-10 thru Q1, but this should be a 120-40 kind of game.

edit--ragged is kind; Montana St. just went up 24-23 in Q2.

So Oregon State is in a nip and tuck battle against a team from Dillon.

Not the Dillon Panthers or the East Dillon Lions, but the Montana Western Bulldogs, an NAIA team from Dillon MT.

Pathetic. Beavs up 32-28 at the half.

Beavers are suppose to have 12 players that can hit the 3. Beavs were 2-12 in 1st half beyond the 3 point line. Don't appear to be in game shape yet. Like the 6'9" center for OSU. And really like Sasha Goforth. She's for real.

Pathetic is harsh. Glad to be playing, and it was the 1st half of the 1st game. A lot of new players on OSU. Going to take a few games to get all these players to gel together.

It's an NAIA team. Jones should be scoring every time she touches the ball. They should be imposing their will in this game.

Did you watch Oregon? They have about 20 new players and scored well over 100 against a D1 opponent.

I didn't see the 2nd half, Oregon wins 116-51. 13 played, 11 scored, 10 had 4 or more. Mikesell w/ 28, Prince 17, Giomi 15 (and 13 rebounds). Paopao had 7 assists.

Maryland transfer Mikesell had eight 3"s. Btw, Sedonia Prince has a nice shot for a 6-7 player.

Prince looks ridiculously good...super smooth and a great feel for the game. I know Seattle isn't a good opponent, but she reminded me of Parker when she was at Tennessee. Great touch on her shots and moves like a guard out there.

The whole team looked good, kind of what you'd expect playing a team like Seattle but great start for Oregon.

Agreed, you forget she is 6ft-7in. Coach mentioned post game the biggest negative was the defense. Just getting the freshmen on tape against another opponent has to be a huge plus for the coaches to break down there game.

Definitely some young talent with the McDonald's AA's at times. Btw, Mikselll is a sniper with the three's.
