I don't like either of them for the season but I love Temple +27 @ Notre Dame and Boise +3 against Washington.

The third game that jumps out at me is LSU -5.5 against TCU.

Really liking Maryland -20 and Northwestern -6. Agree with your Boise pick as well, Whaler.

Week 1 is always tricky but those games stood out to me. Probably will add a few more by game time next week.

More people on Clemson than I expected. They went from a +2 to -1. I like watching the over climb - I like the under.

Temple is +30 now....Boise +4 and LSU -4.5. I really like LSU at that number. They lost a ton of talent to the draft, but they are still a strong team. Really like Temple at +30. I also like FSU -10.5 at Pitt. Pitt has no home field advantage and FSU is very good.

I am staying away from Georgia/Clemson....both teams are too inconsistent.

I was looking at the Rutgers game earlier. Doubt I'll be on it but I like them better than Fresno at 11.

UMass might not win 2 games but they look like they will be a lot more competitive.

UCF -21.5 against akron is a gimme IMO. Also like temple +30 and took Rutgers +11. I like Wyoming +28 at Nebraska and the over in that game.

Northwestern is a really good team and I have them -5 at Cal. The late kickoff might mess with them a little but they're a good team and I like them to cover that.

Check Akron's last few game as big dogs against BCS teams.

Then check out the Big 10 on road against Pac 12 last decade.

Both might be covers but they haven't recently.

NW wins that game by a TD I think. Cal has a new coach yes but this is a NW team that returns one of the most dynamic duos in the country (so underrated) in Colter and Mark. I don't like looking at conferences a whole, every team/game is a different scenario. Put it this way, if it was Nebraska -5 at Cal, and not NW, would you have taken that? Nearly identical records and NW lost to them by 1 last year and beat them the year before. Don't let the name/perception fuel your bets, NW always gets shorted on lines because they're not traditionally good, just like ND always gets too much respect from lines.

why are these "obvious"? not mad I'm just curious as to why you think these are obvious. I also thought about UNC +11 at SCAR on Thursday but I haven't placed anything yet

The Big 10 is like 5-20 in their last 25 visits to Pac 12 teams. Obviously most of those games had better Pac 12 teams than the 2013 Bears. I wouldn't touch Cal and I'm not big on 'trends' but that one caused me to stay away from Northwestern this week.

I'm terrible betting the Pac 12 so you are probably right and Cal cruises. I find the ACC and MAC the easiest leagues to bet and the PAC 12 and Big 12 the toughest.

I agree with you on the Carolinas. I like North getting that many points even though I bet their season win total under.

According to scores and odds highest bet percentages on:
Maryland
Ok state
Northwestern
Texas State
New Mexico

When I see 90% on a side I try and stay away.

Cal starting a true freshman QB too. I like Dykes and think his system will work great at Cal, its just gonna take a little while to get implemented.

I agree with your thoughts on NW...I honestly could see them in the Rose Bowl this season.

Hmm. Seems like a trap. New coach at W. Lost Ball to the pros. But somehow I think UMASS might put up a 0. If that's the case I think W covers.

I like UNC +11. One all world DE is causing unjustified hype. Unc has some nice pieces on o returning even after the loss of Bernard to the NFL.

If one were to like Wisconsin I'd suggest they just bet the over.

Wisky still has Gordon and White in the backfield and a great defense. I doubt Umass will score and Wisky will a lot. Too many for me to be involved in but if I was I wouldn't take UMass.

This is a Umass program which lost 63-0 to Northern Illinios last year.
