I think we are 16-1. ? Not sure we should speed it up have 3 or 4 more losses .We have too many explosive scorers to be initiating our offense so slowly and putting up 70
Our team needs to speed up- our motor hasn’t gone 40 minutes all year
Two things here - the first is the same as your other request that we should press more. Speeding up the game means more defensive possessions where we are more likely to foul - this team can't afford that, though they have definitely been getting better about fouling. We have too many explosive scorers to be initiating our offense so slowly and putting up 70

Dan agrees with you
We're in transition 16.5% of the time this year, 19.7% of the time in 2024 and 18.6% of the time in 2023. 16.1% last year.He has said this a few times, but I'm never quite sure why. His teams aren't some of the slowest in the country by accident year after year. It's because he asks them to run a deliberate offense with multiples actions.
I guess no one says "okay play slow guys." And the difference between a "fast" Hurley team and not is like being the 250th vs the 300th fastest team.
Oh no, you made a comparison to previous teams. We're in transition 16.5% of the time this year, 19.7% of the time in 2024 and 18.6% of the time in 2023. 16.1% last year.
With how many stops we're getting on defense, you'd expect us to be in transition a lot more often than we were last season.
Only if it gets easy baskets by faster. The offensive execution is so good, they are top 5 in offense, why would they rush an offense that gets you shots that are excellent? We have too many explosive scorers to be initiating our offense so slowly and putting up 70

Agree - BUT, depth is often most effective when you tire the other team out, ala 23 team. Depth isn't quite as important when you run long half court sets.I think part of the deal is we wear down teams mentally and physically with the action we run. We are relentlessly consistent regardless of score. LAte in games we seem to get even more good looks.
I like what they have been running. They have just been missing wide open 3s some nights and also not finishing bunnies at the rim. Running a long set and making the other team chase them helps the defense. It tires out the other team and if they run a good set and take a good shot they should be in position to set up their defense. We have too many explosive scorers to be initiating our offense so slowly and putting up 70

Irony is that one of our highest scoring outputs when we did push ball (PC), we barely played the bench.
