they hope to get 10,000+ fans to the Rent and if they win some want to storm the field. I don't think that is a good idea and not knowing protocol about this , I don't think it would be a good idea. One would hope calmer fans prevail, but for gosh sake act like you have been there before, even if you haven't.
 
First, take a shower now that you've been to the RU board.

Things will get very ugly very fast if they attempt this. If they get on the field, the best thing that can happen to them is to get taken away in handcuffs. If you're an RU fan making your way off the field on your own, UConn fans will be waiting for you. And it won't be pretty.

Sorry Zappa, but it was more than i poster. They are so delusional at times that it is hard to get a reading on them.

P.S. I was hesitant about posting RU in the title thread as it is a open invite to a flood of RU posters, besides this is a UCONN board. I don't hardly ever post on the RU board, no matter what they say about UCONN.

LOL. You know why you don't storm the field after winning a road game? Because instead of being told to get off the field, you're simply arrested, detained, and taken in a van to the local police department. The only thing that could make me tolerate a UConn loss Saturday would be watching 200 Rutgers students too dumb to understand that reality being led through the tunnel in handcuffs afterwards.
 
Would security be intelligent enough to realize that they were Rutgers fans and not Uconn fans?

Hey, Zappa, anyhew, no matter how many RU fans show, and no matter the outcome, let's hope everyone (UConn fans too) handle the game with class. And, hope everyone has a good time

let all the Rutgers faithful show up. i feel a win. every year that i think we clearly have the better team we've lost. if you look at the years we've beaten RU, more often than not i'd say they had the better team on paper.
 
Well then, we just need to kick their a** back to NJ so they got nothing to cheer about. Now it is just up to the team to make it happen.

Personally, I'm saving a trip to an overpriced baseball diamond with a football field shoe-horned in for the Pinstripe Bowl.

I was at Yankee Stadium for that game. Attendance was in the 30K range and we outnumbered the Army fans 2 to 1. It was actually a very good showing by Rutgers fans. The place was loaded with Scarlet. It was a lackluster showing of support by Army fans, but they have had a disappointing season. The subways were full of Rutgers fans that day. The Pinstripe Bowl would be a sea of Scarlet. I noticed today we have sold out on our allotment and I've been watching the ticketmaster site and decided I had better buy my tickets now rather than wait because they were going fast in the sections near the Rutgers section.

Well I visited your Rivals Board and loved the echo I got from there. Although I wish there was a way they could stop the tumbleweeds which keep blowing through there.

Of course not: Rutgers boasts some of the best medical researchers in the world, so it's no surprise that someone on the board could easily diagnose those ovine STD's you picked up. You really need to learn that "Baaaaa!" means "No."

I believe Iowa fans did something like this against Minnesota at the Metrodome a few years back.

This crew (which is larger than yours) has come and gone from Rivals and Scout. Just because the merry band of kool-aid misfits isn't big enough to matter doesn't mean you need to come spewing your envy here.

Run along, there's a 14 page thread on the weather you should check up on with the other 12 RU fans on Rivals. Internet tough guys for a school that's never backed it up, in anything, ever.

LOL.

RU's rivals site has 165 members on *right now*, and another 170 guests. This site has 37, with 350 guests. At peak hours it goes to around 2000 at rivals... no idea what it is here, but you don't even have 2000 registered users! 1900 something total to ever register!

The RU scout site has 810 users online right now, no breakdown given of members vs guests. Peak hours sees it at 2000+ as well, a completely different group than the rivals site.

And then you have stateofrutgers.com, which, much like your boneyard, split away from rivals/scout. Let me show you their traffic at 7:12 AM...

"Currently Active Users: 3304 (191 members and 3113 guests)"

Meanwhile, uconn's scout site has 55 users online right now (again, no breakdown of members vs guests) and your rivals site has.... 3 members online.

This puts aggregate traffic at 356 members for RU, 3000+ guests, and 900 that could be either. And we have 40 members for uconn, 400 guests, and something like 400 that could be either. So I think that pretty much settles it, with 8x the traffic on RU sites than on uconn sites.

Then at any given time in the evening, you have 3 different RU athletics forums with more users ACTIVE than users that have ever registered to post on this board!

While we're on this topic, I decided to pull up Alexa rankings for the school's athletic sites and their full sites.

rutgers.edu: 5170 global rank, 34400 sites linking in
uconn.edu: 16515 global rank, 16100 sites linking in

scarletknights.com: 110000 global rank
uconnhuskies.com: 156000 global rank

Again, this information is freely available at alexa.com.

By the way... RU#'s (the guy who does the weather threads) is a meteorologist, and everyone loves those threads. At least two other meteorologists (amateur?) check in as well. All are far more accurate and knowledgable than the weather channel or whoever else is on TV.
