Was Florida State Screwed by the Committee?

Nah they'd want Ohio St and Texas in too. They bring the eyeballs for tv money and fans that travel.

and Washington got in over Florida State to garner west coast interest. If the two teams played in a month Florida State would likely be the favorite, their defense is tremendous.

Of course they maximized TV viewership, TV pays the bills.

Not disputing your point at all here, but funny how this mindset perfectly reflects the basis for college sports' entire business model. If fans' could resist relishing in their tormenters' misfortune, they might collectively realize that we're all victims of the same machine. I used to hate FSU until I found myself hating UConn for the same reason.
I think fans of schools outside the power structure have realized that, but there’s nothing we collectively can do other than laugh when fans of bigger programs experience unfairness at the hands of the Frankenstein’s monster their programs all had a hand in creating.

Really the only west coast team they want is USC. But they suck and can't get to the play offs haha

There's no way the Good Ol' Boys' Club were leaving out one of their SEC behemoths, even if other teams were more deserving. That being said, I'm happy it's FSU that got screwed.

I think the powers made cough fine and appropriate selections.^_^ Furthermore, the ACC were essentially told to zip it, and hold the beers while the big boys of the BIGSEC show us cough real championship football.

I seriously was humming to myself this morning, to the tune of the Star Wars intro theme, "karma". The Empire (BIGSEC) does not care about what is fair.

Is the final four the most deserved or the best football teams? If I know that I could answer the question. Truth is with their QB they’re in without they’re not one of the best 4 teams they’d be 2 TD underdogs versus the top 6. Heck Georgia is certainly one of the best 4 teams they aren’t in. Going to 12 will be close to the best case scenario for this to work out a bit better.

Their charter is quite specific in saying "best 4 teams" and not "most deserving" or "best resume". Gives them latitude to consider injuries and ignore losses.

for those not sold on SEC superiority, consider their best 2023 non-conference wins:
Quickly, let’s review the SEC’s best non-conference wins this season:

  • Ole Miss beating a Michael Pratt-less Tulane, 37-20.
  • Missouri topping a then-ranked No. 15 Kansas State.
  • Kentucky winning at then-ranked No. 10 Louisville.
  • Georgia beating Georgia Tech by… eight points?
  • Alabama winning 17-3 at… South Florida?

Committee did it's job... But I am not going to call their little post-season tourney a play-off; you can play your way into a play-off. This is just a straight up invitational.

Absolutely correct. FSU got jobbed.
If undefeated Washington’s QB Pennix, or undefeated UM’s QB JJ McIntyre broke their foot in last game would either team be left out of playoff? Not on your life.

I'd say you're PROBABLY right but I'm inclined to think it could have been used an excuse to also get Georgia in so that there are two SEC teams.

Mixed emotions. It starts with a totally ridiculous system of 4 intended as a cash grab for major power conferences. 8 allows in the G5 slobs to get their hands on the pie. After the PAC was perpetually screwed and undefeated P5 teams were excluded they felt some heat. Easy fix..B1G guts the PAC. Now the ACC is the weak sister and the snake is eating its tail. FSU was screwed because Alabama had no business moving into the 4 slot. They got lucky and beat Auburn on a prayer. Yet, somehow that doesn’t matter. Losers like Herbstreet and Finebaum are so in the tank it’s ridiculous. ESPN has so many conflicts of interest it’s criminal. The system is so biased and corrupted I’m glad to see their ten years of theft and greed blow up in their faces. I’m also not ok with a team doing everything they can do get screwed. All about money. Sickening.

So biased... They love to throw SOS around as if the SEC teams don't get inflated SOS because of their inflated rankings which they maintain by avoiding tough OOC games. When they do play one and lose, they find a way to make it not count. "We're a better team now" is the dumbest argument ever....

FSU is now considering not playing in the Orange Bowl as part of a boycott.....lol....they need to avoid the Orange Bowl because Georgia is going to prove on the scoreboard why FSU didn't belong in the CFP in the first place.

FSU will beat GA.Then, predictably, GA will say they didn’t care enough to put up a fight. FSU’s D will come close to shutting out UGA.

If that happens, it would be cool if they gave themselves a trophy that has UCF 2017 on it.

I don't think FSU is one of the best. Having said that, they met every criteria previously used and in that sense, they were jobbed.
