I hope Cooley stays at PC.

Having said that why is it "hope" to think he might go somewhere else in the future? He is 15-15 this year, and has not proven anything, yet. Sure he has 2 possibly nice players coming in next year, but if they are really good they, are there for more than a year. Also both players are quite literally in PC's/Cooley's backyard with Ledo from Providence and Dunn from New London (about halfway between Fairfield and PC). Can he sustain that type of recruiting success when it's no longer the case that great high school players are playing 40 minutes away? If they aren't any good/great, b/c we all know freshman come in hyped and don't always live up to it, well 15-15.

"Speculation" sure, of course, but unless you are a psychic, you to are speculating about what Cooley does in the future. IMO he would leap at a chance at a true power school, though would probably stay at PC over a lateral move. I mean in some theoretical plane where UCLA wants Cooley, I think Cooley leaves. Not happening, IMO but just saying.

Sure.

You leach money off the conference earned by the football schools- especially Connecticut. You add no ratings, little history, no star players, no excitement. You cash checks you do not earn.

UCONN football lost money when they went to a BCS bowl. NO history? Oh, that's right...basketball started in the 90's. NO stars? Does Marshon Brooks count? No excitment? Have you met Ed Cooley?

If Cooley leaves; it means he has rebuilt PC. I'm ok with that. Worked with Barnes and Gillen.

Love Marshon Brooks, nice player, sometimes spectacular and seemingly going to have a very nice pro career too....good for him!

Star? What did he win?..........sean94 tells me you know little about anything prior to "the 90's" so leave that one alone!!

Yeah, Cooley is a Rhode Island guy. Only super success, and a great offer elsewhere, would get him to leave.
I have said this to many PC fans, and most disagree with me, but, for PC to become consistently competetive in the BE, they need a 10K on campus arena, plus a 1st class practice facility. I don't believe Dunn & Ledo had tons of offers. Dunn took the safe (and perhaps correct) route. Ledo, who knows. At least twice he seemed to want to change his mind on PC. As far as Noel, he can write his ticket. That ticket says KY with all it's 1st class facilities.
As far as the New London hack, or the PC folk who wish for UConn to sink into the abyss, it ain't happening. A state U with a 35 mil public fundraising campaign that just recieved 10 mil in the last few weeks, isn't going anywhere. Should the NCAA ban UConn from the 2013 tourney, yes, Drummond & Lamb will go to the NBA. 2-3 more players may transfer. UConn might take a brief hit for a year or two.
But, should the NCAA start it's APR penalties from 2014, instead of 2013, UConn should be fine w/o any backward steps. That will disapoint that BC influenced New London hack, plus, Rhode Island native Jacobs of the Courant, and tens of thousands of Providence fans.

Marshon Brooks is your "star"? Being a gunner on a losing team in college and the NBA does not make you a star.

Well with all this big time fundraising you say PC has, my question is where is PC with this practice facility? How much $$$ has been raised to date. UConn's practice facility is scheduled to be complete in 2014. When is PC's scheduled completion? When will PC have an on campus arena?
The attendance for "hated" UConn was 11K, and change. It is my understanding that that arena seats 13K. If that's the case 2,000 empty seats for UConn. And there were plenty of UConn fans in the building. That's nothing for PC to brag about.
Regarding Dunn, I don't have inside info. But, if UConn were to do what they did with Drummond, where do you think Dunn would've ended up? Or, if UConn had an available scolie for Dunn where would he have gone?

UConn didn't have an available scolie for Dunn. Everybody knows this. If you think he choose PC over UConn, with UConn offering a current scolie, well you are in fantasyland. The scolie originally offered Dunn, by UConn, in April, went to Omar Calhoun, in June.
I know the size of PC. In Rhode Island, PC is like the UConn women. Plenty of non PC folk attend your games. Just like the UConn women. But, the Dunk supposedly seats 13K. That means 2K empty seats. Unless they changed the seating capacity. And yes, I've been at that arena. But, competing with other schools with an on campus arena guess who's at the disadvantage??
What about my questions regarding your practice facility?

There would be some legitimacy to this claim if it hadn't been made about 6 or 7 times before.

I did, and I was assuming you were saying that, like Avon Barksdale, we once ruled the world but soon will be going away for a long time. Was that not where you were going with that analogy?

Anytime you want to debate college basketball pre-94(the year I graduated PC). I'll be more that happy to rise to the challenge.
