Vital’s Foul

It is like groundhog day. The same thing keeps happening near the end of every game with the same outcome.

Something has to change, and going to Tulsa is going to be a bear to say the least especially with the way they are playing lately.

Gilbert was smart to attack there. Doesn’t waste time and could’ve been fouled which it looked like he was. Bouk was also undercut
Can't be fouled when he jumps away from contact. He doesn't go up an din to the defender, but jumps away from him while trying to put some scoopi/spin shot up so low it always gets blocked.

When did he do that late in game? He drove at the end cause we needed a quick score and missed. He had 10 points and 2 turnovers and 3 steals.
The drive was the right thing to do. The execution of jumping away from contact is the mistake he typically makes.

He was essentially tripped. The defender took out his legs. Of course, he moved away from the defender, he’s 5’10 at best.

The ball nearly went in and he was fouled. Bouk’s would be rebound on the play was lost when Memphis jumped on his back. That ball drops, or Bouk gets the rebound and we are in good shape.

Officiating has been very difficult for us this year. In all these close games we get screwed.

The CV reach was dumb but it was also a ticky tack call. Terrible choice to call that in a tight, physical game. That type of contact is non stop in a basketball game.

Unfair, but bad teams don’t generally get crutch time foul calls and when they do - they miss the shot. Vital against WSU was an exception to the rule.

When confronting a shot blocker, you jump at him, into him. The shotblocker has a better chance with a little distance. We take away his response time by reducing the distance. The only way to get a shot blocker in trouble is to be close inside of him. Watch Akok. You almost always see space between him and the shooter. Also contact with a big results on a foul on the big over 80% of the time.
