Villanova Post Game Thread

The point is, they WERE good for a substantial part of the season. Making a one game setback impossible to mean they're "not good". Did they just win all the other games by flippin luck or something ?!!?! Good lord.

Good teams DO play badly from time to time.

Agreed...except that it wasn't one game. And when it's multiple games not looking as good as we know they are, it's ridiculous to chastise fans for pointing that out. They played awesome early in the season and we all agreed that was their ceiling, then they played WAY less than that for multiple games.

Some posters were undoubtedly and annoyingly negative about the whole season, but they absolutely were not looking great, and absolutely not looking like they did earlier in the season.

Respectfully there is not a single poster who would accept multiple losses during the season to "develop the bench". And anyone who says they would is lying
Agreed. Also, who was not given "development" time in the early season that would actually be a key piece for a tournament run?

We were always going to be 9 deep, and those 9 all got minutes early in the season to prove themselves, outside of missed time with injuries. The extended minutes stopped for a few because they were not performing once conference play started. I would agree the hook was short on many occasions and now our key 5 are showing some seasonal wear and tear.

Would giving the likes of Koroma, Millender, Furphy (dealt with injury), Paunovic, and Elezaj really have made a difference to where we are right now? I do not think so.

.-.
Nice article, nice bounce back. Let's see what they're made of.
We are going to see what they are made of this Wednesday against St. John's. I love the fact that they bounced back with a solid win against a good Villanova team that will not only be in the NCAAT, but can possibly win 1-2 games there.

They feel like a round of 32 team. I think Wednesday is the real test - and we need to be able to win back to back big games at this point in the year, as good as a litmus test as it gets.

That's an And1 foul... no call....
