I would at that Reed needed more paint touches as well. When he got the ball in the paint he scored. For whatever reason he only got a few touches in the postI love Solo's dependability in scoring. He's really starting to get some variety. Mid range and a couple drives this game. Him and McNeeley are our two best scoring options. Karaban is just going to remain the best role/support player we've ever had. Nothing is going to take that shine.
What is up with Mahaney being gun shy on passing to the open cutter. Does it at least once a game, most times multiple.
JStew proved once again to be an asset. Hopefully Dan Hurley will just pencil him in for 16-18 minutes from here on out.
The story of the game was the bad/unforced turnovers and Ball not getting enough shots in the first half.
Jaylin’s leash is self-inflicted. Needs to find a way to consistently bring what he brought tonight (and at MSG) more than once every few games. I’m rooting for him!I hope tonight was enough for Dan Hurley to loosen the leash he has on Jaylin, you can't watch him and Jayden play basketball and think their minutes should be split/shared, Jaylin just has way more game and feel. Jayden needs another offseason of seasoning and development.
It's crazy, Jaylin is a much better basketball player.I hope tonight was enough for Dan Hurley to loosen the leash he has on Jaylin, you can't watch him and Jayden play basketball and think their minutes should be split/shared, Jaylin just has way more game and feel. Jayden needs another offseason of seasoning and development.
That works until you realize Hurley was plays Mahaney and Ross over him when they bring nothingJaylin’s leash is self-inflicted. Needs to find a way to consistently bring what he brought tonight (and at MSG) more than once every few games. I’m rooting for him!
He went one on three and got eaten alive and he drove right into a defender and lost the ball.Yep, made progress. He had a nice 3 and was one of the only players willing to try to take it into the lane when the offense stagnated on a few occasions in both halves. 3 rebounds. Overplayed on D and got burnt but that’s still gonna happen. Didn’t finish the one drive but yes, progress.
He was discussed and dissed ad nauseum in the other thread.
Positive vibes, my friend. Enjoy the ride.
AK wasn't fouled on either of them. He got bailed out and then bricked them.AK wasn't fouled on the shot, but he was on the drive which wasn't called. Granted it there wouldn't have been free throws, although that didn't end up mattering.
Ross looked calm and deliberate for a few minutes around when he made that three and I was hoping it would translate into a better game for him, then he reverted back to his usual self.
It's unfortunate if Ross is such a great practice player, you want to reward that, but you need to produce in games too. Stewart is simply a better game player for whatever reason, especially in the bigger games and when he gets the minutes.
I agree Diarra should have taken that wide open 3, but be honest, most people here would be complaining if he had and missed it, saying he's not a clutch player. Same if Ball had taken it to the rim and got stuffed. I would have rather seen some play to get the ball to Reed in the block if possible, he would have absolutely been hacked, maybe getting an and one.
If you think that shoulda been a foul call at that moment in the game then you are the ultimate homer lolHe got hit on the hand..we got a foul finally called and the guy u figured game over..I'd rather lose by 20..
While I bleed blue, and am sorry I didn't go to this game, the statement above is 100% ... we deserved to lose that game, and I hope we rebound this weekendAK wasn't fouled on either of them. He got bailed out and then bricked them.
Ross would be a better defender if he didn't jump at every ball fake.Ross progressed? He was a non-entity.
I had the same feeling but I never ever expected it to happen that way. The whole team really came back though at the end. Just a hell of a way to lose.I had a bad feeling going in. Even the last couple years when we were a lot better than Nova, they played us tough. They always seem to give us a game.
And so is Ball. This team goes as far as they take us.Liam in crunch time.
I would have rather been down 2. It seems like a three wasn't even an option because we were only down 1 and we didn't run "our offense"
It’s not that, it’s just that we can get a better shot than those 2 AK drives that went straight to the rim when he has been struggling for the majority of the night, it’s not a strength of his game and they both got PUNCHEDI hate doing the holier than thou thing, but some of you need to remember who you're talking about here. Alex has made more big and clutch shots than most players in our history, tough shots to miss, but let's not lose perspective.
I would have gotten Reed the ball on the block and had the rest of the team crash the glass on a miss.AK wasn't fouled on the shot, but he was on the drive which wasn't called. Granted it there wouldn't have been free throws, although that didn't end up mattering.

I disagree. He was fouled with the body.AK wasn't fouled on either of them. He got bailed out and then bricked them.
that drive and turnover was right as Solo(not 100% sure it was him) was about to come off of a screen, Dan Hurley got on him about it at the next dead ball timeout when he was heading to the huddle.Yep, made progress. He had a nice 3 and was one of the only players willing to try to take it into the lane when the offense stagnated on a few occasions in both halves. 3 rebounds. Overplayed on D and got burnt but that’s still gonna happen. Didn’t finish the one drive but yes, progress.

Not even close, if that call was the against us we woulda crashed the internetI disagree. He was fouled with the body.
I'ma going to say this once. Dixon drove and got that call all night. See, whistle don't lie.Not even close, if that call was the against us we woulda crashed the internet
Reminded me a little of Donyell’s miss, but the stakes were much higher with Donyell’s miss. There was no one else we would want at the line as Donyell made 20 FTs in a row in the game against St.John’s earlier that season. I also thought of RJ Cole’s FT misses in the 2020 season against Creighton- that was a choke job.Anyone else suddenly have bad Donyell Marshall flashbacks!
