Lol at the Nova fans thinking UConn is a fraud after this game. Talk about sour grapes.

There’s a lot of takes about how UConn isn’t that good and if they had just avoided turnovers, they would have won…. and no recognition that UConn forcing those turnovers is part of what makes this team so good.

Is Moore going to be able to play. Damn an Achilles tear is tough and usually take s a year.I felt so bad for hi. When that happened
Agreed. I've seen a ton of Nova fans saying Moore is gonna save their season. Justin Moore is a fantastic player but I think it's a stretch to assume Moore is going to be able to be the same player he was this soon. That is such a tough injury. Even Kevin Durant took 18 months before playing again. We also saw first hand how long it took Akok to get his legs back under him after that injury.

There just isn't a good track record for that specific injury in the immediate return for players.

Dixon was 6 for 14. He was more involved than Sanogo but was not more effective or efficient.

Not Adama's best game. But the way the game was played, Sanogo was taken away from the basket and not in a position to rebound. On offense, they clogged the middle and let us shoot threes. We made 9 of 30. If we make our usual 34%, it a double digit win.

Dixon was only 1-5 from three, so 5 of 9 from two.

UConn has 2 very good centers, but Dixon outplayed them tonight.

Was it loud at the game? It sounded like the first 30 minutes of the GTown game on the tv.

Adama was 3-6. 0-1 from three. So 3-5 from two.

It was more how the game was played that Dixon being really good. It seems that way, but we guarded the three point line (Nova was 5-22) and left Dixon basically one on one.

this is what losers say when they try to convince themselves of a false reality. the window for nova closed with jay's retirement. that program, over time, will regress back to mediocrity. they are right about jay though, who was a phenomonal coach and did a great job.

You also knew that if they can’t get a three, they were going to try and back Hawkins or someone his size down. That’s their entire offense

Let’s be honest. Nova was gifted 10-14 pts by the refs ignoring travels, calling phantom fouls (Sanogo one was the worst), and letting Nova do their usual backdowns and swallowing the whistle on some obvious offensive fouls.

This game should have been a 15-18 pt cakewalk with a fair whistle. A 22-26 pt win if we shot at our usual %.

Regardless, a nice grinder win with diverse contributions from our deep bench.

You think the refs were worth 10-14 points?! No idea what game you were watching.

Not only was Dixon jacking up 3's, Slater and he had to bring the ball up the court many times because Nova didn't have any guards who could move the ball against UConn's D.

This Archidiacano is probably the worst player I've ever seen play more than 20 minutes per game for Nova. I don't know a single thing he does well at this level

He really seems like he should be on 'cuse playing for the nose picker.

You can see the passing of the baton in this game. Villanova is an old, slow team that couldn't handle UConn's athleticism. Diarra and the press changed the game. FYI: the average age of the Villanova points scored was 22 years old! Uconn average aged points scored was just over 20 years. Villanova has no recruiting class coming in, will lose Daniels, Slater, Moore and Whitmore. No idea if Dixon comes back, he probably will.

They had a week to prepare for what is perhaps one of two chances the rest of the year to get a true statement win (right now Villanova is not even a bubble team), did a lot of things right, saw Uconn shoot poorly, and yet never were ever really in the game in the second half. Dixon played great but got tired, as is expected.

Whitmore has to be asking himself why he decided to go to Villanova. He gets to hang out with a bunch of 22 year olds who play back to the basket and at a mind-numbingly slow pace. It was a bad decision for him and he looks miserable.

Uconn is better with Clingan on the court. As he gets more time, he will play more and Uconn will be better for it. Loved Hurley going to press, it was obvious they needed to speed up the game and not get lulled into the muck. Diarra was great, Karaban was great.Hawk was great in first half, but forced a lot in 2H. Sanogo really struggled but the pass to Jackson forced them to defend him different and he was able to get a couple of key looks later.

Good win, learned something about themselves this game. FT shooting was generally great, which will be key. At Xavier will be a tougher game on paper, they move the ball well on O, but not sure they match up well with UConn.
