Judging by this game alone, I would rank Tennessee somewhere between 50-60 in the country. they have no idea on how to play team basketball.
It can't all be the Holly effect. Their players just don't have a high basketball IQ collectively.
VT up 7 in the 3rd Q.

I have never in my life seen a team with so much talent struggle so much to look even minimally competent.

According to the announcers for the PSU game they are installing a new read and react offense. That could be part of it. Also, they really don't have a true PG. That is likely a good portion of it. Lastly, some of the pieces they have don't really seem to fit together like they recruited without a purpose in mind. Even still they will win their share of games and lose some that seem ridiculous but come tourney time they could go as far as the E8 once again if they get the right match ups.

VA Tech is just a sub par hoops team. They were picked 12th preseason in the ACC. 12th... the only teams picked below them were Clemson, BCU, and Pitt - 3 fairly dreadful teams. Tenn fans tried to convince themselves that the James Madison squeaked out win was a "good solid" win. JMU is not a strong team - they just lost to an average Iowa team by 15 points...

This loss would be just a terrible loss. Can't put lipstick on that pig and pretty it up...

Here is the thing related to VTech.

Kenny Brooks is a good coach and once he gets recruiting rolling-which he will now that he is in a power5-he will make them a good team.

He has some nice wins under his belt as the James Madison coach. He will get the players for his system.

I know I keep saying this about the Vols, but oh. my. god. That was such a horribly ugly loss. The "fire Holly" insurrection will be in full effect.
