They were lucky that the officials didn't call a tech on the Vandy fans for storming the court after the last bucket. The TN called timeout is most likely the reason they didn't. Congrats to Shea and the ladies.

And on volnation, they were screwed by the refs again.
That is as inevitable as death, taxes, and my eyes being bigger than my stomach. There has never been a bad call that has worked in their favor in the history of women’s college basketball. Continuously blaming the refs for every loss at some point becomes pathetic.

I’ve been following Uconn basketball since 1995 Tennessee hasn’t changed. They may have mellowed however they are ruthless fans and this year they have less than a cupcake schedule and they play anybody that’s decent that can play defense and they will lose. When Uconn goes to Tennessee, expect a home job a lot of southern cooking but Uconn will still win by double digits.

So what is Shea's record against UT? As a player and as a coach?

Puleeeze, basketball deities, no jinx but - Vandy leads Tennessee 37-26 at half time.

C’mon Shea, punch something orange!
Risky move! But apparently acknowledging the basketball deities was enough to get Vandy over the line.

As a player I believe she went 4-3 (not counting 1997 Regional Finals/1998 regular season games where she was on the team but injured).

Her 2000 title game performance was probably her best game vs. Tennessee in her career. She had 15 points on 7-8 shooting, had 6 steals and 7 assists. More than stats, she was just a menace on the court and brought so much energy that Tennessee couldn't match.

Coaching she's now 1-6, this was a marquee win for her program and a great moment for Mikayla Blake who is going to be a major star for Vandy.
