Not seeing much Daniel Hamilton in Vance. DHam was a do it all player who took it to the rim a lot. Vance will be more of a shooting specialist.

I see Vance's career trajectory and role to be similar to Deandre Daniels'. Will he conjure up a 6 game stretch of some of the most unthinkable post moves from a college wing his junior year like DD? Let's hope so.

Read the post and without looking at who posted it, I knew it was Scrappy. Not commenting on anything in the post other than the absolute level of optimism he has, unfounded or not.

Hahah, Im not laughing at you. I find this funny because I just saw a video of Vance getting crossed and falling on Rodney's snapchat.

I love comparing freshman to 1st team all-conference players from years past.

He's a smooth looking player. Also Vital is NO throw in--he looks way better than our avg back up PG.

On top of which this has to be the tallest team with the most quality depth we have ever had or darn close to it.

Are you talking Hamilton, Ohio and Hamilton, Ontario? George and Rex?

And as to your last point... Please, don't embarrass yourself. 2004 wasn't THAT long ago.
7 future NBA draft picks, including 6 first rounders. Take Mek, Charlie, Josh, Hilton and Marcus White. That's four future NBA players 6-9 or better and 6-8 reserve Marcus White who would be the best offensive rebounder on this year's team.

No give me back my damned National Flag Blue tinted glasses before the season starts!

Vance reminds me of Reggie Cameron of Georgetown. The Sputherland guy from Syracuse. He's exactly like all the 6'8 spot up shooters.

Vital reminds me a "little" of Craig Austrie. I dont know what the consensus is here but I liked Craig Austrie.....a lot. Was he a little too hesitant to shoot the ball sometimes? Yes. But he had a tremendous amount of poise. Yes, Vital attacks the rim way more than Austrie.....but I think Vital brings composure, change of pace, defensive tenacity (he will eventually be called upon to shut down opposing guards). I thought Austrie brought those same attributes. Their styles are different but I think Vital adds cohesiveness much like Austrie.

Nothing wrong with some Austrie in his game. I think Craig's big thing was consistency, he wasn't going to hurt you all that often when he came in and had similar skills on both ends of court. Would never blow you away with anything but bringing him in would not make you squirm for the 3-5 minute spans he was playing. If Vital has some of this as well as the ability to get to the rim he could see the court more than many think.

Maybe, but Austrie couldn't dunk, period - much less do what Vital did as a freshman in the dunk contest. Vital is much bouncier than I was expecting - may be more than your average backup PG, in time.
