Maybe Vance is starting to realize that bench sitting for a year won't be fun. Could be that simple.

Sitting on the bench is the opposite of being the featured player.

was it an emphatic "ey" or did he brush it off? did he smile when he said it? did anyone else bring it up? did you also ask him what his favorite pizza was? and did you find out if he eats at arby's?

we need full details here man.
He was hanging out at a baseball game with a friend, his friend asked him, "Who asked about uconn?", they both said uconn twice, and there was someone who said come to uconn a little after I did. Then I posted go to uconn again, and he read it aloud again, said you never know... made some girl feel dumb because she claimed to be a big fan and was shocked that he was leaving utah. He was like, "Girl everyone and their mama already know I'm leavin"
think we have a chance... this off-season is killing me

As crazy as it sounds, and although the odds are low of that happening, it would not surprise me if a month from now he decided to stay. I, for one, would embrace his return. At the end of the day, he's a great player and would be an impact player here next year. He can moan and groan, but at the end of the day nobody wants to sit out an entire year and have to reacclimate all over again to major change, especially when the opportunity to play and have huge impact is right in front of him. Also, he knows how talented our back court will be, and that we are 1-2 great front court players from having a mediocre season to having a deep and exciting tournament run. So maybe after he does some exploration and realizes the opportunities elsewhere are not likely to be as good, his stays. Don't get me wrong, I think its a 20% chance at best, but I also wouldn't be surprised if we heard later he stays.
I pray to God that you are right... Vance has a legitimate opportunity to be a break out player for us next year... He could see the court along side Larrier.. No way is he being blocked with playing time anymore... not with our entire frontcourt from 2016 gone...no way...

But his dad posted some contemptuous statements, including a tweet that he quickly deleted saying something to the effect that if KO keept it up he will tell everyone the real reason/story.

IF this is true, then there's no way Vance is coming back.. no way... and I wish that kid the best wherever he ends up...

I think he's gonna be a great player...

Vance is not coming back. No idea why this is a discussion.

People do change their minds. It's certainly a nonzero probability. It's foolish to act like it's impossible just as it is to act like it's likely. In reality he's almost certainly more likely to transfer than to return because that's the way of these things, but belittling the possibility serves no purpose.

We act like this is a messy transfer, but it's really not so bad. It's been fairly amicable, especially publicly. How bad could it be if his bff, the titular player of this thread, is considering us. We as fans probably have more animosity towards him than he does towards UConn & staff considering the attribution we give to his transfer and the snowballing effect it may or may not caused (or merely been swept up with). It's just business to him.

Considering the role this particular transfer has played in harming this program's perception and giving other coaches material to negatively recruit against Ollie with, I'm of the mind that KO should stand his ground if dad comes around again. The three players transferring and Sr. running his mouth are in my mind a huge reason why kids are taking opposing coaches seriously when they trash us. Putting us in a position like that should not be rewarded with getting his spot back.

Good plan, Ned Stark.

He hasn't. But his dad posted some contemptuous statements, including a tweet that he quickly deleted saying something to the effect that if KO keept it up he will tell everyone the real reason/story. But, at the end of the day, I think KO would not hold his dad's transgressions against Jr. if he wanted to come back, and maybe a little apology by the old man (or some distance )
He did not mention KO in that tweet at all, he was more than likely referring to the idiot fans on twitter.

Maybe. Although it felt like it was directed at him, he didn't mention him by name. But in the tweet before that, his said he was boiling/fuming about the idea that his kid plays no D, and Sr. proceeded to tweet out a bunch of stats. Minutes later he came out with that "I'll tell the whole story if you keep it up" tweet. So based on a succession of tweets, that this follow the exit player meetings, it did seem like he was referring to KO but you're right I don't think he mentioned him by name in that infamous and now deleted tweet. I suppose he could save face, if it came to it and claim this was directed at some jerk fans.

When you trash a kid after he leaves, even as a fan, it just shows that you're upset to see him leave. I didn't want Vance to leave, but he also didn't deserve to be talked about in the way that he has. And instigating his father on twitter was stupid too, even if the guy is a little much. Wish UConn fans would just drop it with VJ.

Dude at that point KO had made no statements at all about Vance to the public after he announced he was transferring , it was all the fans ragging on Vance's game and why he was leaving on twitter, that's what that tweet was in response to.

I don't care if the kid is the second coming of Steph Curry, never, never, ever take him back.
The old man could never apologize enough, .throwing Unfounded accusations around. I would not be surprised if RU is the only school that might take the kid.
This kind of carp makes me sooo angry.

Especially when he got waaay more PT and shots than he deserved this year due to all the injuries. He's a decent player but nothing more than a one dimensional "specialist" who is just ok at his "specialty". Dont see him being able to add versatility to his game due to severe athletic and explosiveness limitations. Not too many tweeners in college ball but he may actually be one. too slow to be a 3 and not big enough to be a 4.

With that said, I would take him back in a heartbeat. I'll take wins over pride any day :).

Unless we land a few guys ready to contribute next year. In that case see ya later.....

In the college game, I think he's easily big enough to play the four. He makes a perfect stretch 4 actually. Does need to gain some strength, but he has the frame for it.

But, but,but he thinks he is a 3 and wants to play a 3, he father wants him to play as a 3 too. What is he to do? Do you think other teams will let him play 3? Maybe RU will. Who knows. If he is not happy will he be a cancer in the locker room.? Wish him the best.

That's how I interpreted it - it was very clear.
