Lighten up Cody ... you may get more responses on the USMNT then you will GDL's playcalling ... :)

#1 - I've been keeping my fingers crossed ever since Rentschler was announced as a host stadium back in January. I probably would have gone no matter who ended up there ... glad to see it will be the US! I attended the WCQ vs T & T in 2005 and I met Waquoit and SPSCT at the Czech send off in 2010.

#2 - I've only started following the EPL since the days of Keller (Millwall), McBride (Fulham), and Reyna (Sunderland). I follow all the Yanks, but have taken the biggest interest in Tottenham due to Dempsey. Very strange match vs Liverpool. I'm no Lloris fan ... very ironinc that AVB prefers him over Friedel because of his speed and decisiveness ... and he ends up flubbing the clearance. The worst part of the match was having no wide right threat ... and the only reason Bale was there to feed Vertonghen was his re-entry after his simulated facial. Suarez embellished at the end also.

Any word on Dempsey and Lennon??? Where do you get your Spurs news?

Why are you posting the junk on a Football board!? Nobody knows what the hell USMNT is or cares. Go post this on your FB page if you want someone to care.

Your post is egregious, your fish are not.

SB Nation has a solid Spurs site, http://www.cartilagefreecaptain.com/

Updated multiple times per day.

Twitter, of course.

Lennon should be back tomorrow (Thank God). Have not heard an update on Dempsey. Lloris is usually solid, but he was bad Sunday. Suarez's first goal was pretty, but near post, Lloris should have saved it.

The clearance debacle was as much Walker's fault, but yeah, not a banner day for Lloris. He'll bounce back, though.

ESPN SoccerNet is not bad, also the Guardian newspaper has a nice soccer section. I like the "tottenhamblog.com" as well as tottenhamhotspurs.tv as a message board.

AVB says that Lennon may be ready for their game in Milan tomorrow, but I don't think Dempsey will be available for a few weeks yet.

Nutmeg,

Agree with your assessment and we have some tough matches coming up (Chels / Man City @ home / Swansea on the road - tough place), but I like where we sit and I especially like that we got 4 points against Man U this season. I would put the odds at about 60% making CL. Last year was a heartbreaker, but I think this team, and Bale especially, has a chance to be really special. I suspect a CL run would quicken the pace on the new stadium and given how well run the club is financially (they will have the building paid for before moving in) the extra money should position them to stay at the top of the league for years.

Zoo - that stadium has looked amazing. I'm really impressed by how the management was able to turn around the support for the club (getting out of Chiefs Stadium was huge). They are now up there with the top supported clubs like Montreal, Seattle, Vancouver...but not quite Seattle which averaged an incredible 43k a game last season.

I actually think Hartford is the perfect location for an MLS team. Good sized market, no summer competition, stadium configuration & size are about perfect. If the Revs don't get a new field and I think they would be foolish to not at least take a look down here.

Champions league would be huge right now, for the future of the Club. Will be able to keep Bale, and bring in some high priced help this offseason.

While I'm not the biggest soccer fan, I like to see postings of uses of the RENT. The more uses, the faster the debt service on the facility gets paid off. (Not that I'm keeping track)

vs Costa Rica, according to the twitter people who know such things.

Good match up, but remember, this will not be Dempsey, Bradley, et al.

Why no dempsy etc? Timing or because it's not a qualifier? Also anyone know if Torres will make the cut? He's scrappy but not the best passer.

Yup, Samcro is too. Any others on here?
Casual spurs fan here, I think i was influenced by Bill Simmons's logic of picking a EPL team to follow (too easy to adopt the old top four, like being a Bulls fan when they were good... by the way Simmons has really abandonded his EPL fanhood but whatever). Mike Grant, who used to post here but is now mainly on twitter, is also a recent Spurs adopter.

Dempsy has been sidelined with a calf injury, but in a twitter Q&A Klinsi said recently he'd be back on the roster. I don't remember what he said about torres.

Haha - looks like we have a conclave of Spurs fans. Cody thought it was bad talking about the US National Team, wait until we get going on whether Tottenham can hang on to a Top 4 EPL finish and a spot in the Champions League, and the upcoming Europa match where we finish off Inter-Milan :)

I've watched the Spurs all year because of a Brit friend here in town. It's hard to get used to drinking so early in the morning at the local soccer sports bar. I'm amazed at how this team with a horribly awful defense manages to score so many clutch goals. And Dempsey! Wow, I just shake my head at that guy.

The question is a summer night after work will tailgating be allowed?

That's really bad news seeing as how we are playing costa rica as well as Mexico at stadium Azteca in two weeks. Crap

Yes, but only one of that Top 4 ever played in The Rent, and put on a show to boot. That's who I picked.

Heck, yeah. The best food I ever had was a soccer tailgate at The Rent. We had the good fortune to park next to a professional spanish chef who made a massive paella for his group. They invited us over and it was spectacular. It was so good I even ate the mussels.

Also per an interview it seems like there is a relationship strain between Donovan and Klinsmann... That it's up in the air whether he will return and if he does it's unknown if he will fit in and play... WHAT?

Time break up the Spurs party here. Swansea fan here. So stoked on our Capital One Cup win! Hoping Laudrup sticks around. My buddies an Arsenal fan and I hate then so I'll side with you guys on that. I really got into EPL last year and got to a Swansea game when I was in Whales last year. Fell in love w/ the team after the game at Liberty Stadium!

I'd love for Hartford to get a MLS team. Heck I'd take a second tier team to show we can support them. I think a stadium around Hartford could draw well from the Hispanic population in Hartford as well as the suburbanites. It would rock.

I'll def be getting tix if the USMNT comes to The Rent.

As a Liverpool fan, I love Walker. Thanks again Spurs!

What a cute little second-tier club you all have.

Lol, Zls. Handed you that match. I'm okay with the Reds, although Suarez is difficult to watch without wanting to strangle him. He takes Duke's flopping to a new level. And the teeth! Good Lord!

Another Liverpool fan here, though very recent. Mostly because my two absolutely favoritest British people I've ever met are both Liverpool fans, and they're sorta like the Red Sox East. Sorta.

My mother claims my great grandfather played for Chelsea, but I don't think I could live with myself if I became a Chelsea fan.
