With Wilson, Boston, and Cardoso being first round picks and 2 being the No.1's.....do you really think that would be a concern??? No...just bluster. No one needs to consider whether a team that has that much success with so many players would not be a seriously great landing spot. Geez....Dawn will get what she wants. I can't believe you even suggested that anyone would question Dawn's ability to develop players. Not every player is 100% going to be that player, but her track record is exceptional.
Those are the big names but there are other successes. Coates and Herbert-Harrigan come to mind. I'm loving the progression were seeing in our current players too...Kitts and Feagin are two more success stories.

So let me be clear about what you’re suggesting. With Tac, Dauda, Watkins & Edwards all potentially coming back to SC next season, you believe Dawn can go to the portal and bring in another talented Big who’s willing to compete for PT because they believe Dawn will develop them?

By the way, let’s be clear about Dawn’s ability to develop Bigs. Wilson, Boston & Cardoso were all top 5 McDonald’s AA’s during their senior years in HS, with pretty well developed games to start with. Cardoso was a star at Syracuse and 2nd team all-conference before transferring to SC. Dawn certainly made all of them better. But none of them were projects to start with.

Why do players go to any team with a stacked roster? They want to win. It’s that simple.

I absolutely think that South Carolina could go in the portal and land another big.

The team loses its starting center, another depth piece, and the forwards are in the 6'2, 6'3 range and aren't really built to defend large posts. Not to mention that the forward most likely to slide over is coming off an ACL.

South Carolina is the premier destination for All American centers, it wants to run its offense through the post and is certainly a favorite for next season's championship. Particularly if it shores up its primary weakness.

If I was a 6'1 to 6'2 forward who doesn't play the post or wing I definitely would be hesitant.

But there is obviously an opportunity to get 20-25 minutes a game and potentially start at SCar.

If they aren't good enough to earn playing time, maybe they aren't as good as they thought.
Or perhaps they weren’t as good as Dawn thought when she recruited them….or perhaps they weren’t coached well enough to develop their talent to the fullest….

More power to you, although I don’t know that I would call SC the “Premier destination for All-American centers.” There’s a school I know of that boasts some pretty fair centers by the names of Lobo, Wolters, Charles, Dolson & Stewart to name a few. Also, there’s a pretty decent center named Betts out on the west coast.

“The forward most likely to slide over” may not be ready until February next year and may not be 100% if you are talking about Ashlyn.

Can we move on, its pretty obvious at this point the question wasn't asked in good faith. With Sania leaving and with Watkins likely gone for most if not the entire season next year it makes perfect sense to go out and get an experienced 5. The team will only have 10 active players to start next season. Assuming Raven comes back.

Otherwise we're putting all of our eggs in the successful development of Dauda and Tac right away next season along with no additional injuries. We play too difficult of a schedule to not test the waters and if a 20/10 night post player wants to come to SC we will gladly take her and she would absolutely play and likely start.

Final point, South Carolina is absolutely one of the premier places to be in college basketball and to say otherwise is disingenuous. Just like UConn, minutes are earned and not given here. Players continually come here not for the individual glory, but to compete everyday in both practice and in games with other similarly minded players in hopes of playing at the next level.

What has been the feeling on Raven coming back? Asking as someone who doesn’t closely follow SC
No clue, I'm leaning towards her coming back and it's probably be in her best interest to improve some more before entering the draft. But at the end of day she's still a student athlete and she may not want to deal with all the work with juggling both for another year.
