I wonder how long it will take her to get reacclimated. Hopefully she has been working out and keeping in shape while she was away from the team. We need her.

I need to see Carolina play someone normal before I get carried away about need.

Probably after Sunday I'll ageee.

But not sure how much use she would have been vs Michigan.

The problem was offense basically.

Not sure she brings more to table than Kitts/Edwards in that department.

But she might have let them play three forwards which maybe helped the boards. I think that lineup would get zoned to death though.

Watching replay with kids who missed it...Raven had a rough, rough game.

Edwards' teammates have insane confidence in her ability to catch passes in traffic and it seems to work out. Great hands.

Edwards made a lot of freshmen mistakes.

I'm about ready to sell my last shares of Feagin stock. I'll hold for another week.

I have never been the high man on Fulwiley and still have my concerns. She needs to mature her game.

A little bit. She tends to favor experience. But I think she values winning over everything else so I expect Tessa and Hall to flip-flop with each other on total minutes played based on who is having a better night. Tessa definitely proved herself time and time again, so I hope Dawn will use her more in critical moments.

On the other hand Edwards was stealing time from the rest of the bigs, so I think that narrative will be a hard sell as a whole.
I meant she should have been out there for Raven.

Raven is our worst FT shooter, and she got the ball back on side OOB to get fouled. And Raven was defending the MI freshman on the two made 3s before getting a hand on her last one.

Bree is like one of those characters from video games before you could create your own. There was always a “boring” character that was a B in everything. No great superpower, but no weaknesses either. That’s Bree. And fwiw, unless you had a specific style or strength, the “boring” character with no weaknesses was usually the best pick.

If you didn’t know and just watched the MI game, you’d guess Fulwiley was a freshman debutante and Tessa Johnson a seasoned vet.

I can see that. That's a good description.

I'm not quite ready to declare Tessa as our best guard, but the evidence is mounting.

Tbh didn't really love the answers but it does sound like she'll play even as soon as Sunday

Tessa is the purest shooter on the team, and I know PaoPao led the nation last year in 3pt%. But Tessa needs 25+ minutes per game this season, she can flat out stroke it. Hall will start, that’s Staley’s way with seniors. But Tessa will play the big minutes.

Fulwiley will settle in, and lead the team in scoring, I have little doubt about that and Edwards will likely be second in scoring with Kitts, PaoPao and Tessa on her heels. Raven is a great floor general, one of the best, but I’ve given up on her jumper ever being better than average tbh. I think by season’s end Tac will be a solid contributor and key player. I hope they can redshirt McDaniels, but redshirts don’t happen as often as they used to. Kitts wasted a year of eligibility, would hate to see Maddy do the same in mop up roles.

Tessa and Bree together might get more minutes than folks think.

Also Tessa or Bree at 2 with Edwards at three.

Tessa also might be the third PG.

Most dependable?

Most skilled to Milaysia’s most athletically talented?

You can tell that Tessa shot 30,000 free throws when she missed the year of ball in high school
MiLaysia is one of the most physically gifted guards that I've ever had the pleasure of watching. However, Tessa is just as capable of providing a momentum change as MiLaysia--just without the eye-popping athleticism. I do believe that Tessa is the more dependable guard right now. It's safe to say that she may not have the ceiling that MiLaysia has (who does?), but she's not all that close to her own ceiling, either.

It's a good "problem" to have right now.

Any of yall down there come across any of the monkeys on the loose. Grab two for me, think its time for me to have some pets.
For anyone curious it's been reported that 40+ monkeys escaped a research facility near Beaufort, SC. I too was shocked to learn this wasn't some Facebook misinformation masquerading as news.

That's my feelings as well. Tessa is more dependable at this moment but MiLaysia will probably bypass her at some point. Concerning MiLaysia, I think this season is going to be a growing season for her. Like I don't see her making any All-american team or winning any accolades but I hope this is the season where she builds that good foundation of habits that will jumpstart her all-stardom into her junior and senior years. MiLaysia surprised me last year though, because she had so much growth throughout the season, so I won't bet against her doing it again this season -- but my gut is telling me that the All-american version of MiLaysia won't be manifested until her junior year.

I think we accept without much internal conflict the idea that players who are no more talented or athletic than Tessa are among the best players in the country.

I tend to see the waste with Fulwiley before the production registers and that's not entirely fair. She and Tessa were equally responsible for jump starting the championship win over Iowa.

I just want her to make the simple play and be an all American rather than hunt hard plays.

I thought it was a joke when I first read it. Now they said there have been monkey sightings 50 miles away. I’m not that much farther away.

As for MiLaysia, Dawn says the goal is for her to not make the simple plays so hard, so She’s gonna have some growing pains.
Tessa just gets better every time I watch her play.

Lack of redshirting in wbb is confounding. Kitts could even potentially make more with 2 more years of college than 1 + potential pro rookie. If you don’t want the 5th year, you don’t have to use it, but don’t waste a season for 47 seconds of mop up against Auburn.

Seems like very poor understanding of delayed rewards and failure of adults to get it across. Another sport, but remember when we lost a guy who became a great “senior” football player who chose to play in the mayonnaise bowl and lose his RS.
