USA Basketball 3x3

Maryland wins tie breaker in Pool B and advances with Ole Miss. Not sure how the tie breaker works but i believe it’s points or spread.

Oklahoma vs Colorado College is the last game.

Villanova moves on and likely OU as they should win this game

Skylar Vann from OU is another one of those players that is 5-10 to 5-11 and can play inside or out and can guard bigger players. She is crafty around the basket too.

Oklahoma wins 21-8 and advances on to next round with Villanova.

Louisville transfer Payton Verhulst is really good.

Pool A : Seton Hall and Duke
Pool B : Ole Miss and Maryland
Pool C : Gonzaga and Creighton
Pool D : Villanova and Oklahoma

Up first today in elimination games is a Big East matchup

Seton Hall vs Creighton

Azania Baines from Seton Hall is having a great showing. Former Duke/Virginia Tech transfer is another player that is 6'1-6'2 that can play inside or out, handle the basketball and shoot the 3.

Media timeout and Seton Hall leads Creighton 13-11

In a super close competitive game Creighton pulls it out over Seton Hall 20-19.

Great game!

Creighton moves on and Seton Hall is out.

Maryland is so smart with their match ups.

When Masonius gets a smaller guard, in this case 5'6 Zania Jones from Villanova, she goes straight to the block and scores! She did it against Londynn Jones yesterday.

Maryland's offense goes awry when Bri McDaniel enters the game. She is one of those players that puts her head down and drives in the lane and tosses the ball towards or over the basket. That doesnt work in 3x3.

Media Timeout and Nova leads Maryland 16-15 but Nova with 5 fouls already. At 7 Maryland shoots free throws.

WOW! LUCY OLSEN!!!!

Nova beats Maryland on a game winner by Lucy Olsen 21-20.

Christina Dalce had 4 blocks in this game.

I am loving these 3x3 games on the women's side. I have not even watched one second of the men's side of the 3x3. This Ole Miss/Oklahoma game is picking up steam. A little sloppy at times.

5'3 Neveah Tot for OU comes into the game and EVERY Ole Miss player takes her to the block.

Ole Miss cant stop fouling and may well lose this game from putting OU at the free throw line.

OU hangs on for the victory over Ole Miss 18-17.

Yes! The women's games have been great! I caught some of the men's games and it was just a bunch of high schoolers trying to recapture their youth IMO. There were a few college players.

Duke vs Gonzaga next.

Both of the undefeated Pool teams from yesterday have lost today (Seton Hall and Ole Miss). Can Gonzaga change that against the Blue Devils?

Love how the one official is talking to the players and educating them on the style of play at the international level and how the games will be called. Up next, my other favorite team to watch, Gonzaga.
