It's very early obviously, but Woo Hoo Notre Dame!! The Irish supposedly have 6 available spots, and with 4 commits for 2013, that leaves 2 at most. I know there are offers to Greenwell and Russell, and maybe to Davis? I've read rumors, and I suppose it's possible. If Duke is interested, Davis should be fine academically at ND. And ND has HS teammate Nelson and friend Reimer already verballed, so it makes the dream seem credible. I doubt ND has a chance at Russell, seems Louisville or UNC at this point, but Greenwell would wear green well, I think!
i think it's interesting that of the 3-4 remaining top 10 targets Tennessee is after (Russell, Greenwell, Tucker, Scaife), other schools seem to have really made inroads and i'd say that Tennessee leads neither for Russell nor Greenwell.
it was reported on their board a while ago that Tucker seemed to favor Tennessee, but i've not seen anything lately. you have to imagine at the very least that Brenda will pull out all the stops to get a top 10 kid from Maryland...
anyway, my point is i don't care who lands those kids. ABT in my book (Anywhere But Tennessee).
as for the rankings, i tend to believe no one has seen her yet from ESPN. Blue Star now has Chong at 25. i'm not sure where she is on ASGR as they only publish their top 10 for free. from everything i've read about her game, she's very comfortable as either a 1 or 2 guard which would fit in perfectly with Moriah when she arrives.
i have no doubt other shools will be chirping in her ear that she won't get any PT at UCONN, but with Kelly and Caroline gone before Saniya gets here, the only "true" guards would be Bria (SR), Brianna (JR), and Moriah (SO). if she's good enough, she'd be fighting Brianna Banks for a starting spot her sophomore year.
of course, it's always possible you could see starters of Moriah, KML, Morgan, Bree and Kiah, in what would be Saniya's sophomore year, but that is the mix and match options that Geno will be blessed with going forward.
can't ask for more than that when going to a school like UCONN.
