If Laces can get by Rose, I’d love to see them pull off the upset of the Lunar Owls. They and the Mist are my two favorite teams. Kayla McBride has been the league MVP for me, leading her team through so many injuries along with Stef Dolson. As much as I love Pheesa and have always liked Courtney Williams, I have never warmed to Skylar Diggins and find it hard to get behind the team.

I also wonder if, from a marketing standpoint, it might not be more interesting if Phee, cofounder of the league, best player on the best team, 1-on-1 champ, 1st team all-league, didn’t also win the first championship game. Or do I sound like the people who used to say UConn was bad for basketball? :p
I just love watching the UNRIVALED! Most of the players seem to be
really having "fun", the format is exciting, and long runs and comebacks
keep me on the edge of my seat! One of the best things is the untimed
4th quarter and every last shot being a "WINNER"! I 'm already looking
forward to next year. It is a refreshing alternative to "NBA/ Corporate
basketball".

Oooh this is cute and the timing is interesting. I wonder if this is a tease for tonight?

I, too, noticed that Kate M. is "missing". I assume that ANGEL will not
be available for any "FINAL" if the ROSE wins the semi... That would make
quite the spectacle. But all the possible match-ups are intriguing. IMHO

Most of the Unrivaled players aren't taking it too seriously, which is great. You get to see personalities shine through. I will say this, though. Chelsea Gray almost singlehandedly made the basketball competition more exciting when she picked up her level of play and started nailing game winners. Otherwise, the season was headed for a major snooze fest.

ummmm

This could be a big factor if Collier isn't able to go. The Owls have decent depth, but she's a key scorer.

I'm also curious as to who is available from an injury substitute aspect? Has anyone seen any announcements for Reese's replacement?

It's Rose and Vinyle in the final. Hey that rymes. Owls got knocked off their perch without Collier, while Chelsea Gray scored 39 to delace the Lace's.

It was Naz Hillmon. She scored 8 pts on 4 of 5 shots. She seemed to be the only one except Chelsea who could hit a shot.

Collier played and scored 36. They still lost.

With, not without. While there was concern about her knee, she played significant minutes. There won't be an asterisk beside this win for Vinyl.

Regarding Hillmon, she fit in really well last night. Even Gray said that she asked to keep Hillmon in the game because it was working well. Not bad for a late pick up after her season in Australia.

Congratulations to the Rose for being the inaugural Unrivaled Champions. Good battle with Vinyl to come out on top. Chelsea Gray definitely earned the MVP in my opinion. Look out for her this WNBA season because she looks like she's back to herself.

Agreed. I feel like she regained her moxy too.

I think one of my favorite parts of Unrivaled was watching the youth blossom. This was a really good experience for young players like Rae Burrell and Aaliyah Edwards.

Agreed. Burrell has had her challenges due to injuries. She looked great and I can't wait to see how she does in the WNBA this season.

Everyone knows my bias for Edwards but I'm still giddy about what she accomplished during the 1 v 1 tournament. Hopefully the new coach in DC looks to leverage her expanded skillset this year.
