Underrated Female Pop Singers

Goin' back a ways on this one, but I've got Louis in the player now and I repeated this one a couple of times. This was Louis's first hit. The singer is a woman named May Alix. Her voice and delivery were absolutely amazing. Never heard anything else like it.

I can't let the wonderful Flora Purim go unnoticed.

"Open Your Eyes, You Can Fly" - great tune, lots of FM play back in the day:

Olivia Newton John was a singer whose talent kind of got lost with the popularity of Grease and her foray into disco pop. One of my favorite recordings was her cover of George Harrison's "If Not for You."

George Harrison’s?

Patti Austin - she did some great stuff back in the 70's and 80's:

.-.
It wouldn't be surprising if one hasn't heard of Sissel Kyrkjebo from Norway, but she has to have one of the most vibrant voices anywhere. This is a great rendition of Shenandoah.

Saw her as art of a Bushbell show.

It's nice to see that others have heard of and like Sissel. Here is another truly beautiful song that gives one goose bumps. I also recommend "Going Home" if you like this one.

Riki Lee Jones doing Last Chance Texaco back in 1979.......so talented and so underrated:

This from years ago....Joyce Sims burned up the dance floors with her voice and beats.

The gay bars in Columbia, Greenville, Atlanta, and Charlotte that me and my buddies hung out in the 80's while at Carolina blasted this song...Dang I miss the 80's Dance Music....

I started this thread with Lucy Thomas. Let me now add the latest from her, Lucy has a voice of an Angel and also the beauty of an Angel. How is that possible ?
