Underrated Female Pop Singers

Alejandra Deheza from School of Seven Bells. Her twin sister Claudia was originally with the band but left eventually.

.-.
Lara Fabian. Underrated in the US (because they stuck us with the other "French Canadian" - even if this one is Belgian and Italian):

Need subtitles:

For those who prefer songs in the English language:

The polyphonic contralto Diana Ankudinova (sorry it is cut short, it is part of a Russian singing contest-type show):

.-.
Not your classic beautiful voice, but Brittany Howard of the band "Alabama Shakes" makes me want to get up and go. Go where and do what? I don't know, but I like it.

.-.
.-.
Linda Perry (RIP) of 4 Non Blondes - What's Up - Not only was the singer, she was also the writer.

She also wrote music, "Beautiful" by Christina Aguilera, "Get the Party Started" by Pink, "What You Waiting For" by Gwen Stefani, "Superwoman" by Alicia Keys, "Can't Let Go" by Adele and others

Julieta Venegas. I continue to listen to her music over a decade after discovering her catalogue. It's in Spanish, though. You don't hear much about her in the US.

I also maintain that Tori Amos continues to be ridiculously underrated, though most people have heard of her. Also Linda Rondstadt. And I second the person above who mentioned Regina Spektor.

I've always liked the lead singer from STEPS Claire Richards. Here she is singing "One for Sorrow"
