UMass Lowell Post Game Thread

Everything has been pretty much said.
My Two Cent observations
Reed looked like a "bear" out there. ( You pick the color) Sanogo like down low.
Guards are WAY faster than in the past and seem to be able to finish.

Well, that was... interesting. We were at what 43pts before they scored their first bucket? Should shut up the New Haven folks. I honestly though Tarris might have had 40pts himself by the end.

Hurley playing starters up 60 at 9 minute mark was a sin of pride.

He is working on his team. It had nothing to do with the score or opponent. A big part of what happened last night was getting in game condition and going 100% when a player was on the court. Maybe add in building a little chemistry. Hurley has work to do.

A strange marker of greatness is when you begin to assess a group and forget meaningful factors-

When I list the embarrassment of talent in WUTang I often forget that GZA and Deck were members. That's how good that unit was.
When I talk about the women's team I often glance over Shade and KK that's how good Genos squad is.
When I look at this UConn team i sometimes forget we also have two potential AAs in AK and #1 out there. That's how good we are
This team is legit

Most importantly they all played defense better, heck of a lot more intensity than Monday. Tarris being back big difference obviously and he looked real good and healthy, need him to stay there. Silas more aggressive and finishes strong both hands. So good to have such a talented back up in Malachi, he’s real good. Alex hedged aggressively a few times and stopped any offensive penetration, moved his feet great something a bit different I liked it. Stew as Ross solid off the bench. Reibe played better, rebounded better knows where the basket is.

UML wasn’t what they have been and were smaller so we need to tone it down a little but you had to like what you saw last night no doubt. Columbia Monday will tell us even more!

I was at the game last night and have a question about the PBA: was there always a giant Canadian flag hanging up there? I don’t recall noticing it in the past and am wondering if anyone knows why it’s there.

Stewart with 6 assists? I dig that
He’s an underrated passer. As a Seattle guy, I’m especially rooting for him.

He’s a smooth player with a nice touch. My only concern with his game so far is lack of tenacity attacking the rim. I would like to see him finish and drive more aggressively as oppose to leaning back and fade aways, even though he can make those at a fairly high rate

Yes, because the Whalers always played the Canadian national anthem for the Canada teams. Same with the Wolf Pack.

American Hockey League has at least one Canadian team. Pretty sure the flag has been up since the whalers played

The problem with these early season cupcake games. We are better than we were against New Haven and probably not as good as we looked tonight. We won't know anything until the BYU game. Need some game that are one possession games with 5 minutes left. Those are more exciting than these.
Patience, look at the schedule

Yup - can’t ride the highs and lows of tomato cans, they show almost nothing. We can learn from last year. This is when everyone comes out thinking Jaylen Stewart turned a corner.

The only thing to glean from this one is Tarris makes a massive difference but we knew that already.

Not sure this team is reminiscent of either 23 or 24. We have no Ajx, no Cling, no Cam anywhere on this team. We haven’t seen enough of Mullins to even understand what part he’ll play. Unique blend.
I think you compare teams and personnel when the season is over. Until then, enjoy watching this team develop its own style and personality. Or occasionally don’t enjoy it also.

While the season unfolds for the coaches, players, and fans, you can always choose to be present for experiencing each game fully, and on off days practice spelling Jaylin's name correctly...one day at a time.

Yeah but do you think we have a chance to make the tournament?

I think TRjr has as good a chance to be an AA as the 2you mentioned

And Tony Harrington sang the Canadian anthem in French when the Nordique came to town.
I left that nugget for you, Deep. Sacking him was just another way the Whale would step on their own package.

Did he just call one of our own a tomato can? Bump that, too bad I can't ignore twice.
