UK beat Tenn by 25....is ours still a quality loss?

They played in Tennessee two weeks ago and the Vols lost by 3. Shows how far Kentucky is from being as good as Kentucky.

Sarcasm rules, just tells you how far away this team is

In case the quotient had dropped a little low for the day, it's nice to see someone willing to step up and top it off.

Fishy, Good to know ur the only person allowed to provide an opinion. Can never get enough of ur insightful posts that always make less than any sense, but somehow you achieved some odd status where you can critize anyone and everyone, and usually do.

The team was preseaon top 5 and has 2 of the top 5 1st lottery picks and NBA talent at virtually every spot.

Don't make stupid threads if you don't want to get called out.

The loss to UT was never a quality loss. UK demolishing them changed nothing. UK going to the wire with them last week changed nothing.

they beat FL at home, almost won at MS St and almost beat UK at home

looks like a team capable of playing good, and we were sans Boat

it was a basketball game, but I suppose one can always choose to mock his team

Sigh. A bad loss is an actual term the committee uses when it's looking at your schedule. It's used to describe losses to mid-majors or talent-bereft teams at home. It isn't used to describe losses to good/decent/mediocre teams on the road. Especially teams that have played the top 10 in that arena closely.

Actually I doubt there is a "bad loss" in the minds of many Huskies and fans alike.................but there is such a thing as a "bad post" and this actually isn't one of them.

It's much more fn ridiculous than that!

Ok, I need to understand that. Somehow UK has 3-4 frosh who are playing together for the 1st time and other than an amazing game winning 3 pt shot they'd be undefeated.

But, albeit, they don't play buzzsaws like Rutgers, Seton Hall and Cincy everyweek.

Calipari lets freshmen come in and essentially lets them play, and play through mistakes and growing pains. He gives his kids lots of freedom.

Calhoun makes kids play his system, and they ride the pine until they learn to play the game the way he wants them to, make every decision he wants them to, and execute the offense he wants them to.

At the end of the day, Cal uses one and done players for a year and they use him. They get the time and the minutes and the stats to leave a lottery pick, just like when they walked through the door.

Calhoun molds players, and that takes time..

You would think a UConn fan would know the difference.

I think it's pretty obvious "how far away this team is" given the way they've played the last 3 games, which includes the Tennesse game. But thanks for starting a new thread to point this out to all of us who think the team is playing great.

This year's UK team is one of the exceptions to the rule, not the rule, when it comes to young teams performing well during the regular season. Heck it's not like they do this every year. Just last year, a young UK lost 9 games (8 during the regular season) 4 to the "great" Georgia/Alabama/Ole Miss and Arkansas teams of last year. Of course that team made the final four. The year before the more talented and young UK team only lost 3 games and failed to make the final four.

Fact is most young teams have issues closing games, winning close games and winning on the road. This UConn team is one of the youngest in the nation (#6 was quoted before). Right now is when you would hope the team would start coming together, but with all the interruptions to team chemistry, who knows if it will happen. Just have to hope and believe it can. Everyone knows it's an offensive issue more than a defensive one, so we'll see if it get's straightened out.

Oh man, now you've done it! Don't you know the rules for posting. UCONN is always the winner. it is the scoreboard that's wrong.

Hey remember last year when you said the BE could not produce champions and UConn was awful and UVM and Fairfield were going to be at-large bids?

Why do you still post here when you have proven time and time again you know little to nothing about basketball?

Oh boy, is this post really necessary? No loss is a good loss, or a "quality" loss as you say. It doesn' take Nostrodaumas to see that this team isn't playing well and Kentucky is.

True, but there are such things as bad losses.
