I just hope we don’t have a letdown after winning the National Championship and going undefeated last year. Fresno worries me but I think we squeak it out, 54-14 but close until midway through the 3rd. then get focused the rest of the way.

On a more serious note.......
I fully expect we get blasted at Fresno State. First live action in two years and we're flying across the country. My hope is that the team can quickly settle in and grab a number of wins over the following seven games, HC, UMass, Yale and some of Army, Wyoming and Vandy. I think 3-5 is fine and 4-4 would be terrific. Then we go into the last third capable of winning against M. Tenn. and play hard in the last three games where we most likely will be multiple TD dogs.
I think this season is less about the absolute number of wins and more about development and being competitive. That said 3-4 wins is fine and anything above that is excellent progress.
The defense needs to show marked improvement and we need LB play in a big way. Randy putting Crocker in as the DC to start his second tenure was a huge mistake in my opinion. I actually think we'll move the ball and we have a terrific back in Mensah with some good receivers.

I go back/forth on 3 or 4 wins.
I think they could win all 3 against UMass, Yale, Holy Cross, but I think it's more likely they drop one of those games and win a surprise game elsewhere.
I guess I'll go with 4.

Clemson is a classic "trap" game. They're going to be looking ahead to the "civil conFLiCT" and lack focus for Clemson week.
