Hurley NEEDS to let Karaban/Johnson play through their mistakes.
Hurley said he's going to do that. We'll see.

Hurley said Johnson will be allowed to play through mistakes, particularly in early-season non-conference games. The hope is that, come New Year’s and the thick of Big East play, the Huskies will have a fluid and consistent player in Johnson, who is intriguing for skills both near the basket and on the perimeter. He has a 7-5 wingspan and a variety of tools.

Somewhere in the 24-7 to 22-9 arena for me. Win 2 in the BE tourney at least and with that tough schedule and grind for the year at least 2 wins and a look at the final 32 is a must.

I think we win one of them and that's our upset game. I'm not convinced as of yet that Hurley has the chops to go toe-to-toe with Creighton. Nova will be vulnerable this year.
Maybe he'll do us a favor and get tossed ala Villanova and Kimani can go toe-to-toe.

Kidding.

Kind of.

I agree, but I'm giving us a couple of headscratching stinkers thrown in there. Lots of new pieces, we aren't going to fire on all cylinders early in the season, or every game. Chemistry takes time. I expect a surprise win in there vs a good team though. Too much talent for it not to happen at some point. It may not click all the time, but we're going to come together for some spectacular game where we obliterate some top-25 opponent.

So... I'm going to go with 22-9
You're a realist. I like it. Being a fan doesn't mean thinking your team is better than they really are. There should be no guilt in admitting some bumps in the road in a team that is 1/2 new blood. I second your 22-9, With a big unexpected W somewhere and a few losses that will melt the yard.

26-6 if we stay healthy throughout, and AJ plays and steps up as a leader like he should. Both of those are asking too much I fear.

Pretty high expectations with a lot of new faces. But we have new faces with experience.

Did we ever do a poll for regular season record? I just created one, albeit in the middle of the season, but it got deleted. I think it would be interesting to re-take the temperature of the 'Yard after the hot start.

Anywho, with the benefit of a 9 game head start, I predict 26-5 (15-5). I count 11 remaining games that are losable, and I think we'll win 6 of them.
